MSI Trident 3 8RC-003US Enthusiast Gaming Desktop GTX 1060 6G i7-8700 16GB 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD Win 10 VR Ready + KB and Mouse

Purchased the version of i7-8700+1066+16GB from Amazon Warehouse by only about $930. Although the Amazon Warehouse web page described the product's condition as "used, very good", when I got the package, the machine was actually like new in the original package. All the accessories (including keyboard and mouse) were in perfect condition and came with original package. I checked the hard disk usage time and the software showed the hard disk had been used for only several hours before. Thus... I have to say Amazon Warehouse is indeed a great place to save money. Then I found two tiny problems with this PC. When the computer was loaded (such as run as game), I could hear electricity noise (called coil whine) from the PC, and when I used the front audio jack, I could also hear the noise of electricity in my earphone (but the back audio jack works well). I contacted with Amazon technology support, the agent told me that it was a normal phenomenon in some new computers, and according to her experience, the coil whine will decrease with the time passing by, and the agent refunded me 90$ as compensation. Now, just as the agent said, the coil whine is much less noticeable, and most of the time the computer is very quiet (even few noise from the fans with good CPU temperature control) . There is still noise in earphone when the front audio jack is used, but if I use headset, most of noise is gone, and there is totally no noise from the back audio jack. So now the machine works very well for me, and I am very satisfied about Amazon's service. Something about this PC. Well, with 1060-6GB graphics card, this PC has strong gaming performance under 1080P, even though the new generation of graphics card has come out. I believe that 1060 is still a good and economical choice for game players who don't seek for ray tracing and 2K gaming. According to my experience, this PC can run Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed Unity with 50+ FPS and Rise of the Tomb Raider，GTA5 with 60+ FPS under very high to ultimate graphics setting, 1080P. For more game testings, you can find many videos on Youtube. Just in a word, it is surprising that such small desktop PC is equipped with such strong gaming performance. About upgradebility. This PC's motherboard is customized H310, which means you cannot buy suitable motherboard from third party and you can only use 8th and 9th generation of Intel Core CPU. The PSU is 230W, I think there should be no problem to use GTX1660，GTX1660ti without purchasing 330W PSU from third party. For me, I think it's unwise to throw GTX1060 and buy GTX1660ti, so I won't consider upgrading untill next generation of GPU is out (maybe after 2 years). In conclusion, I really love this PC. It looks cute and the small design allows me to carry it on flight. The strong performance totally meets my requirements for programming, study and gaming. The service of Amazon is very good.

All righty, when this baby first arrived u boxing was a treat. It really is the size of an Xbox but it's so powerful! I can easily stream and play all of the latest games at the same time. Only issue was for the first day and a half I had to set up windows and renown load it without losing into the computer because it was stuck on user 0. Let's just say support was useless and I had to do it all my self because they just didn't understand the issue. After I re downloaded the drivers, it worked like a dream. I have had it for about month and am very happy with ny purchase!The mouse works and does its job, wish the chord was higher quality and heavier in my hand. The keyboard I absolutely love! The only issues I have had is the shift key occasionally getting stuck under another key which is an easy fix!A couple years later I'm still using it!!! Works really well :) I don't need it to carry around uni with me for tournaments and stuff, so I'm thinking of buying a new computer. But I'll def keep it and keep it in the living room so guests can play. Recommend it for college students or younger kids. Good little system

I purchased this machine, and was very excited about its form factor, and finally having a machine this small, and also be upgradable. But in the end, I was very disappointing. My biggest beef with this system was MSI does not allow you to modify this system in ANY way without voiding your warranty. That's right, once you pop the side cover off, there is a nice "Warranty void if sticker removed" on the main screw you need to remove just to take off the top cover. Ok well this sucks, now for me to keep this machine, I cannot have both a warranty, and do something as simple as add more Ram, or a SSD.Usually for me that right there would be enough for me to return the unit, because frankly..that's a horrible, stupid thing to do. But I decided to look past it, I added my M.2 2280 SSD, and booted into the BIOS to switch my boot drives. Once there, I started having a real odd thing happen. On the BIOS main menu there was a box in the left hand corner cover 20% of the menu with lines across across it. If you attempted to click anything in the BIOS menu, the PC would just simple freeze up, and you would have to do a hard reboot.I then booted directly into windows, everything was working fine, performed all of my updates, and tried again. Same thing was happening, and after trying a few times, I simply just clicked exit BIOS, and then my save options for exiting popped up in Chinese for crying out loud. Wow..great..after all this I said enough is enough, this is the second machine I have owned from MSI, and both were disappointments in my opinion. I would just simply stay clear, and by a brand you can trust.Pros--Form factor (Smaller than an Xbox one)-Price (Not bad for prebuilt)Cons--Factory HDD is 7200RPM, but very Slow!-Waranty Void sticker!-A pain to disassemble to add HDD/SSD-Freezing up in BIOS-Non standard mini ITX motherboard-Very small power supply (180 watts I believe)

I am loving this handy little PC, it really is console sized and Packs a Punch. Important to note I have not tested it with any sort of VR, so I cannot comment on that.

Not a bad little machine. Put a 256 gig nvme ssd in it made start up a lot quicker. Pubg runs 70 - 90 FPS at medium settings.

I originally go this for a small vr and a LAN set up but soon become a dedicated desktop PC as well as being something i can use for vr and LAN parties. I also assumed that the specks would be lacking but i am able to run every game i have put it through. Mind you i do have a 1080p screen and it runs at 60hz. Which i also find to be the most ideal setting to put this computer through so that it runs perfectly.

very fast CPU for this size, arrived on time, very quite during the game.arrived with very good gaming mechanical keyboard and mouse.

Computer was for my 16 yr old son. Replacing his first laptop. He is very impressed with its performance. I was impressed with the value! Delivery was quick-got here 2 days before expected!
