Kissing the World: The Universal Ti of the Great Perfection

Provides symbol explanations and The Three Meltings and more
It might be better to read this work before the other ones because it defines many symbols used in other Dzogchen volumes. I have compiled a char of many of them which can be used to decipher other works--much like a dream symbols list. In addition to this very valuable IMHO content, this book points out that triplicates are just as ephemeral as dualities. I have added a few quotations to my collection, including The Three Meltings which was a beautiful explanation:p. 176: The three poisons and the three bodies: We do not divide them separately. The five poisons and the five bodies: We do not divide them separately. [numbers are symbols pointing to allusions ]p. 186: As for demons, they are collections of ideas from our minds.p. 231: Nothing is something.p. 300: The Three Meltings: Instructions of the heart that teach things the way are not seen by any looking. We melt into the unchanging dominion of our own minds. We do not use any meditation to meditate on it. We melt into an experience in which our understanding and thoughts do not flicker. We do not use any practices to practice this. We melt into an uncomplicated experience in which we have nothing to do with attachment or craving. We do not work toward any reward. We live by ourselves without hope. In decisive unity we melt into the space in which the three bodies are indivisible.p. 306: At the moment we are absent, thusness will appear, no matter what. At the moment it appears we know the face of thusness…The totality of samsara and nirvana will be liberated into its own place.an easier to read version is attached as a .jpg photo--with better alignment.SYMBOL MEANING/ANALOGY SYMBOL MEANING/ANALOGYArrow tips Awareness Mirror, a MeditationAvalanches Good works Mistaken roads Grounds for deviationBee, a Practice Moon, the WisdomBird's eyes Grounds for deviation Mountain, a RewardsBlack charcoal The unchanging Musk Unceasing arising of the forceBlack silk The unchanging Pasture's splendor ImpermanenceBlack wool The unchanging Peacock, a SamayaBlock of ice Our way of being Peacock eye feathers Outer clarity of our mindsBow's string No continuum break Phurba BodhicittaButter lamps in vases Inner clarity of our minds Pigeon Way things appearCairn Delusion Rainbow colors MeditationCamphor Way things appear Rainbow fades into sky inseparabilityCanal water into sea Not turning back Razor Vision of connected forceCataracts Obstruction/concealment Razor KnowledgeChildren Sacred instructions Revelations of the heart experienceClouds Obstruction/concealment Rope DelusionClouds, the What taken into experience Salt melting into water Not turning backConch, a samaya Sandalwood Unceasing arising of the forceCrystal egg Way things appear Sesame seed Our way of beingCrystal egg Non-duality outer/inner Shimmering water Non-duality outer/innerCrystal Rosary Vision of connected force Shooting arrows The bardoDarkness Obstruction/concealment Shooting stars The bardoDawn Understanding Spear tips AwarenessElephant, a Practice Stomach cramps Grounds for deviationEye, an Understanding Sun understandingFlower, a Impermanence Sunbeam Vision of connected forceFog Experience Sword KnowledgeFog, the What taken into experience The sky A viewFoundation of the Earth The base of all things Thorns AwarenessGarlic Unceasing arising of the force Tiger skin Outer clarity of our mindsGaruda, a A view Tooth KnowledgeGods in the temples Inner clarity of our minds Torma Offering, AnGold Rewards Treasury of silk The base of all thingsGreat stars, the Wisdom Vulture, a A viewHail, big Good works water Our way of beingHarvest, a impermanence Water bubbles ExperienceHuman lineage No continuum break Water/mud mixed inseparabilityIndex fingers Sacred instructions Water stream No continuum breakJewel, a Rewards Waves melt into water inseparabilityLake The base of all things Wind, the What taken into experienceLantern, a meditation Zi stone, a Non-duality outer/innerLeopard skin Outer clarity of our mindsLight, the WisdomLightning Good worksLightning The bardoLotus, a SamayaMadman, a PracticeMantra striking poison Not turning backMilk Sacred instructionsMirage Delusion from pages: 96-8, 138, 165-170

Vivid
I've only begun reading Kissing the World. Not being a translator, I can't comment on the "accuracy" (in quotes because there seems to be a divergence between those who prefer translating the words and those who prefer translating the meaning). But I find the language vivid, clear and inspiring! Since it's a tantra, it really needs a qualified teacher to explain, but I feel those who have received sufficient teachings in Dzogchen will find this book of really high value.
