Q: anybody use these without mounting screw? What do you use to secure speaker to stand?

I have them for a pair of KEF LS50 Metas… I used the larger of the 2 supplied top-plates… the foam padding on the plate is very tacky against the smooth speaker bottom and keeps it in place well…. I haven’t had any problems not using any mounting screws.

Q: Can these stands be filed with sand or lead pellets?

No, they can't. But they are heavy/sturdy enough and balanced with the speakers mounted that you don't need to do that.

Q: Will these work with Martin Logan motion 35XT ?

The top plate size is 4.3" W x 7.1" L might be too small for Martin Logan. I add another IsoAcoustics L8R155 plates for my Elac B6 for better support. Overall, it is pretty solid and heavy speaker stand.
