Great small 3d scanner
This 3d scanner is for smaller application and captures incredible detail. If you are looking to get your hands on a good 3d scanner this may be the one for you. It also comes with a turntable for easier scanning. Scan your subject from multiple angles and orientations. Then clean up and print or use for other applications.

Took a bit of practice
I have 3 Revopoint scanners (two ranges and a pop) so I assumed the learning curve for this one would be pretty easy. It wasn't. Because of the different way it captures the models, you need to have a different lighting and backdrop setup to get a good scan. It took several attempts to pull in something recognizable, and several more before I had a good solid scan of a 2" x 2" x 4" toy. The resolution is really good, I would say slightly better than the Pop 2, but it's going to take an hour or two to get it. If this is your first scanner, you're not going to be disappointed in the final product once you have a proper scanning station setup and a few hours (uninterrupted) to practice. This is NOT ideal for scanning large objects. It's best for smaller items that you would typically print on a 3d printer, for example. Car parts, toys, household items... they all scan really well, and the software is pretty ingenious. Textures are also picked up very well, due to the nature of the light used in the camera. Now that it's dialed in, I'm going to be using this a great deal.

Really good at what it does
I do a lot of 3D printing, and I'd been wanting to pick up a 3D scanner for some time now, primarily for parts replication and modification post scan. Recently I gave the 3D MakerPro Mole scanner a shot, but overall, I had results that were less than desirable, and while technically it did work, I had a pretty good loss of detail and I consistently had to apply a lot of post processing work. I was starting to wonder if 3D scanners under a thousand dollars were going to be worth it at all, until I tried this one. While it isn't perfect, this is a very good scanner that captures a good deal of detail and consistently has good results.Pros:+ JM Studio software is simple to use but has many powerful features. As a significant part of the work is handled by the software, this is just as important as the scanner that captures the point cloud images.+ Good working range and does an excellent job of capturing small to medium sized objects, though it is capable of scanning much larger, you are limited by the cable.+ Captures quite a bit of detail with the point cloud, and with the software you can control the results of your final render. See example attached images.+ Nice compact size is easy to manipulate, and the included extending tripod is a nice touch.Cons:- No included storage case of any kind other than the box itself.- No turntable, or option for using the scanner to capture larger objects.- Captures good detail, but it can get noisy in post. It would be nice if there was a better way to capture and process the results without so much noise.Overall, I'm very happy with this 3D scanner. I'm able to consistently get good results when scanning things by hand, and the level of detail I'm capturing surpasses that of the Mole scanner by the same company. It does get a bit messy when you try to get too much detail, so if you can live with a bit of simplification of detailed objects or handle a cleanup in post, you'll be fine. While I'd love to see more detail without having to deal with as much noise, this is the first 3D scanner I've found to actually be pretty useful, and one I think is worthy of serious consideration.

Run don’t buy
Product didn’t work right out of the box. Try to scan with it and the software wouldn’t even recognize the camera. Tech support was useless they had no clue on how to fix my issue. They told me to do things that I did already, I could have written the book she was reading from.

Not impressed at all
I consider myself a tech savvy person but for almost $1k this should have very detailed instructions. You get a few papers with how to connect it but nothing explaining you need to go to their site to download app for phone and app for PC. Could never get phone to connect to hand held scanner setup. My phone should have handled it fine it just wanted to have a QR code to scan and I tried everything. Nothing worked. Big down fall of such a major device. You shouldn't have to search everything to try to figure it out. Again detailed instructions would have solved this. Couldn't ever get a decent scan from the turn table setup with tripod mount for scanner. Tried several angles and just got spotty bits of my item. Really hoping to save time in design with so.e stuff but back to CAD. All the hype with this device and I felt like it was way more work to trying to figure it out than a quick plug and play. No idea why the version on my PC kept crashing in the middle of scanning. I'm running a 2060 Nvidia graphic card with newest drivers and 32 gigs of ddr4 along with AMD ryzen 9. Never have issues on any 3d design software/cad. Not sure the issue but not worth this amount of money.
