Solid
I recently started using this manage my glucose metabolism and support heart health. The capsules are easy to take, unflavored, and boost my energy throughout the day without stomach upset. I appreciate the non-GMO ingredients. If you're looking for a natural aid for metabolic and cardiovascular health, this is a viable option at a fair price.

Gets the job done
I take berberine for general metabolic health and this supplement has met my needs just fine. Presumably liposomal delivery provides better absorption. I don't know if it does or it doesn't, but that seems to be the latest buzzword. I do like that it is made in the USA. I have no adverse side effects taking this supplement.

Good Berberine Supplement
One thing I like about this berberine supplement is that it's made in the USA. It states it's made in a cGMP facility, meaning a current good manufacturing practice. The capsules are relatively small but it is two capsules per serving. You can make them last longer by taking just one and it's nice to have the option to take less if you want. It's got 300mg of Berberine HCL per capsule and they're easy to swallow. So far as I can tell, a good supplement.

300 mg Liposomal Berberine Said to be better Absorbed, but No ALA (Contrary to some Images)
I ordered this supplement because I’m intrigued by the various claims made for berberine, yet I’m also very aware that it is generally very poorly absorbed. Because of that I thought I’d try a Liposomal Berberine, as liposomal delivery is said to enhance bioavailability. But before I get to that, I always like to review the manufacturer/distributor (primarily for safety) by looking at their transparency, accountability, and quality.Transparency: The founder of Core Med Science, is identified as Dr. Bogdan Popa, a board certified anesthesiologist for 20 years. There is trademark activity going back to 2017, so 7 years at least. They claim that “our products are proudly made in the USA. That’s why we are proud to provide free shipping to our troops at their APO/FPO/DPO shipping addresses.” Kudos for that!Accountability: While a different one of CoreMed’s products, Curcumin, is said to be sourced from India and processed in the US in a GMPcertified facility (as well as batch tested with Certificates of Analysis), there is no information about this Berberine supplement. When I contacted Core Med Sciences they replied that “ Every batch of every product goes through testing at a third party GMP certified lab. We test to make sure every product has the correct amount of Berberine in it (or whatever product it is) AND for contaminants”. They didn’t really answer my question as to whether the Berberine itself is manufactured in a Good Manufacturing Practices certified facility (they mentioned the lab being “GMP certified”, perhaps meaning it’s an ISO certified lab?).Quality: The 300 mg dose is two smallish easy to swallow capsules that, when opened, look and taste like Berberine, which is reassuring (very bitter!). Regarding liposomal delivery, on the Core Sciences web page they explain that “Liposomes are tiny spherical bubbles (vesicles) made from the same material as a cell membrane from non-toxic phospholipids, which deliver nutrients readily into the bloodstream”. So while this may appear to be a low dose of Berberine (300mg as opposed to 400-1500 mg in non-liposomal supplements), the enhanced absorption makes a big difference.Final Thoughts: Having a real MD behind it is reassuring, having them clarify that 3rd party lab testing is done is somewhat reassuring (I’d prefer a verifiable name for the lab), but the copywriting and image errors on the Amazon listing are confusing. I didn’t yet get an answer about GMP certification in the manufacturing facility they use. That said, it definitely looks, smells and tastes like Berberine, and the liposomal formulation should improve absorption.

Good for you
The media could not be loaded. Berberine is a yellow compound found in some plants. I have several Oregon grape (Berberis aquifolium, also known as Mahonia) plants around the yard. The roots traditionally have been used as a strong dye. They also have dangerously spikey leaves. The capsules in the Core Med bottle contain Liposomal Berberine HCL, from Berberis aristata. This variety has been used for thousands of years, primarily in Ayurvedic medicine. Many of the claims about its benefits are more-or-less unsubstantiated, but its most common uses are for diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. The HCL part of the name stands for 'hydrochloride', which is a salt added to the herb. HCL is often intended to insure that whatever it is added to dissolves or that it can be absorbed by the bloodstream. Sometimes the salt may be added to extend the shelf life.Since the Berberine has been treated to be liposomal, the HCL may be incorporated primarily to extend the shelf life.Speaking of liposomes, the process of making something liposomal involves treatment with either of several substances, such as sunflower lecithin and/or MCT oil. There is no mention on the label of what was used to make the Berberine liposomal. But there has to be something... some spherical, fat-like particle that encases the molecules of berberine and makes it easily absorbed. This is all very interesting, but kind of wonky... I've been taking these every morning, and I feel great. However, I'm also exercising more, running (OK, trotting...), eating an apple a day, taking more oil, collagen, protein, and other good stuff... so it's kind of hard to tell.I'm taking these primarily because of the reputed benefits, and I'm reassured by the quality of manufacture and the reputation of the brand.

Seems to be the real stuff
Seems to be the real stuff, I refuse to take any supplement made in China. This is made in the US and in certified facility. I've only taken it for a few weeks and can't tell the difference but hopefully it's doing what its advertised.
