This worked very well for my yard. The population of coyotes in my neighborhood had increased a lot and 2-3 coyotes would visit my yard at a time during the day and night but 4 of these placed in strategic places worked very well to deter them along with putting some chicken wire around my fencing. At first they stopped during the nights but still visited the yard during the day but in the past week or two they have stopped completely. With some sun exposure during the day these devices work throughout the night.

I bought these out of desperation. I spray the plants with smelly deer repellent, but if it rains or I don't keep up with it, Bambi and crew are most pleased to eat everything in the space of a night or two. I have spent quite a bit of money on landscaping and I don't care to have it regarded as a free salad bar. So.....what to do? I had my doubts these blinkers would really work, but I thought nothing ventured, nothing learned. Well, I'll be damned. Since placing these in my yard 2 months ago every night, I haven't had one single thing eaten or even nibbled on. I followed the advice I read online and placed one in one specific area where all the hostas are and the other in another area where they like to eat things. The trick is to constantly rotate these around your yard, but always within eyesight of where the deer will potentially try to eat your plants. I have placed nails in various tree trunks around my yard about 4' high, so the blinkers are never in the same place too frequently. Another thing I do is take these into the garage and super charge them under a light that stays on all day. They hold a charge and blink for 11+ hours. I gave my parents a set and they have had the same wonderful results....not one hosta touched. And I'll say this. I went out into the yard on a dark night to see the full effect and the creep factor is excellent. I can see why the deer don't like these. They look like red eyes watching. The blinking makes them even creepier. I'd 110% recommend these. These are sooooo worth it and I can finally wake up each morning and enjoy my hostas.....with the leaves still on them!!! Hope I don't jinx myself by writing this reveiw!! Update...I didn't jinx myself and these kept right on blinking through one of the worst night time thunderstorms you can imagine. Update #2....I did not put these out one night because of a bad hurricane that came through. I figured the deer wouldn't be out in that kind of weather. Guess again...no blinkers out, so they ate several hostas. Sneaky, smart little buggers!

Doesn’t work. There is a nuisance cat that I’ve been trying to get rid of and really wanted this item to work. First night in use the cat fell asleep next to the “predator eye”. Clearly, this DOES NOT work! I will be returning it!

Once you pull the tab in back of the unit to activate, there is no way to turn it off. I would like to be able to turn it off probably in the winter. But U can't.

Third time ordering - great for deer/possum/raccoon deterrent

It is almost 2026 and this constant SUN BAKED, SNOW SLAMMED solar powered predator eye is STILL going strong. Its even cracked in places due to exposure - no matter. Incredible product. Buying more. Wow.

Upgraded to 3 stars for the seller's stellar customer care As a person losing sleep every night for weeks (or longer) playing watch dog for raccoon attacks, I had high hopes for these. The internet raved about how great these were at keeping critters away and protecting livestock. The night I installed these, I went to sleep confident that everything I went through was leading up to the privilege of experiencing how wonderful a good night's sleep really is. Alas, such was not the case, as I was again startled awake by the sound of my flock's panicked screeching. When I grabbed a broom and ran out, I saw a raccoon leisurely digging right next to the flashing light - as if the light was keeping an eye out for it. I had also ordered the Visual Scare Eye Glowing Owl from the same seller. Unfortunately, its eyes didn't glow. Notified, the seller was prompt, caring, and accommodating, and sent me another one soon after receiving the blind one. Since installing the owl on the roof of the chicken house, the attacks have stopped. Yes, stopped. And yes, I got to experience how sweet it is to get a full, uninterrupted night's sleep. My vote is for the owl. He's looks cute to humans, but seems to instill fear in night critters. His eyes don't flash like the Predator Eye that flashes non-stop at an impressive speed. I'm sure even animals can tell that no living creature blinks that fast, that constantly.

It works as it should for chickens.
