Seems to work well
This LivePure Handheld UV Light Sanitizer seems to be a nice little device. It arrived in good shape and with a decent amount of charge. I like to mention charge levels as I feel too many sellers/manufacturers ship their products out with the bare minimum of charge. This frequently allows you to turn the product on for maybe a few minutes, if you're lucky, and then shut down. I like to immediately check out my new items and having to wait for it to charge irritates me and does not give a good "out of box" experience.First impressions were good. UV light did turn on immediately when opened face down and turned off when approx. 90 degrees. Also, as advertised it won't turn on when opened face up or turned past the approx. 90 degrees I mentioned previously. A good safety measure as UV light exposure to skin can possibly be damaging.Item claims to use both UV-A (315 to 400 nm) and UV-C (usually 255–280 nm for LED UV lights like this) wavelengths. According to what I've read it's mostly UV-C that's the most beneficial and germicidal working by "disrupting the DNA and RNA of pathogens, eliminating their ability to replicate".I've done some research and proving it's actually working is a somewhat complicated procedure that needs "dosimeter" cards and other things and methods. So I guess we just take it on faith that:A) It's actually putting out the UV-A and UV-C light it claims to beB) The output is strong enough to disinfect at the distances and exposure times recommended by the manufacturer.I wish they would've provided some sort of documentation proving that their device was tested and proven to work as advertised. But, in this day and age with the state of things in this country I'll definitely be using it around the house taking it along when going out.As such, and with the caveats mentioned previously, I will assume that it works as advertised. Based on that assumption, I would order this again should the need arise. I would likewise recommend it to others. If I get proof, either confirming or disproving, the devices operation I'll update my review accordingly.A+++++

Questionable durability and definitely not a gadget for kids
I recently received this "LivePure Handheld UV Light Sanitizer. Portable UV Light for Disinfecting Room, Kitchen, Car, Bathroom, Household Surfaces. Black" and I have pretty mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I love the idea of having a portable device that can cleanse the invisible nastiness lurking on every device - I'm looking at you, office mouse and keyboard! On the other hand, the plastic housing feels like it will snap apart if not handled carefully which makes me question its portability, durability, and potential lifespan. When I placed the order, my plan was to add this to my list of carry-on essentials for an upcoming flight. I'm not a germophobe, but I'd be lying if I didn't regularly refer to airplanes as "flying germ canisters." I figured THIS device would be perfect to help with that - at least from a mental health perspective, haha! But the device doesn't feel SOLID if you know what I mean. It feels flimsy or hollow inside. I'm sure that's not the case, but something sturdier for the casing would be great. The instructions are relatively simple. After the device has been charged, simply slide open the case and shine the UV light onto the surface to be cleaned for 10 seconds. I don't know how it manages to kill the bacteria so quickly, but allegedly it does. I have only one other UV-light that sanitizes things - a cup-shaped device that cleanses my cell phone in 20 minutes. It takes 20 minutes to do the phone. But this can clean anything you shine it on in 10 seconds? I question the validity of that, but unfortunately I don't have a real way to validate the results one way or the other. I guess for now I will just use this device in blind faith - and not because I looked into the UV light and damaged my vision! Speaking of, I'm glad there's a built-in safety mechanism to disable the light if the device is turned upwards. That doesn't prevent you from lying on your back, holding the device above you, and opening it to shine the UV light into your own eyes though. I personally recommend making sure this gadget stays well out of reach of tiny humans with immeasurable curiosity. In all, for the price I think this is an interesting tool. I question its effectiveness and wish it felt more durable, but if you're responsible with its use (don't let kids use it as a toy and don't turn it on and purposely look at the light!), I guess I'm ok with it.Happy to recommend this to responsible adults who will use it...well, responsibly.

Portable
I appreciate that this light is portable. It’s light and easy to use. It’s small enough to fit in a diaper bag or in my purse. Some people think it’s nonsense and it doesn’t work but I think it does! There’s 6 of us and someone always felt unwell every week so not having that every week is a nice break. The material is very durable, my kid dropped it a few times and it held its own. Great product!
