Our factory camera on our Explorer went out after 10 years, so we replaced it with this camera.The picture with this camera is sharper and more vivid than the factory ever was. It even shows the lines without needing forscan to enable them.The camera does have a slightly different handle when mounted so you see more of the bumper on the bottom of the screen, but it's helpful when backing into a tight area such as a parking garage.Installation was very easy and took less than 15 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one with 2 sockets, a star drive, and a screw driver.

My 2013 Explorer backup camera was intermittently failing. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was also very cloudy, probably due to water getting in. This replacement isn't OEM, but it works fine. It bolted right up in the factory location and the connector clicked in without any issues. I am amazed at the clarity! The backup grid lines are a bit different but that's a non-issue. Get one of these for your Explorer!
