Purchased this item because test strips are not available for the meter I had been using. I have been using this new Diathrive meter for just under 2 weeks. Very nice kit. Has everything needed . Took me only a couple of minutes for initial setup using the included documentation. I would very much recommend this kit to anyone, including someone new to glucose monitoring.Readings have been consistent with each other and with the readings I had been getting with my prior meter. I love the fact that this meter can show averages over different time periods; 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days. Nice to be able to compare recent vs. longer term trends.Accuracy is not something that I can easily measure. The Diathrive website states that this meter "exceeds FDA standards for accuracy". I find the FDA standards to be lax. Very minor complaint that meter does not have a standard USB (or micro USB) connector. One would need to purchase a special cable; which is available from Diathrive, but not here at Amazon. Not expensive, but a minor annoyance. to have to order elsewhere. (I am in the habit of manually logging my readings as my prior meter did not have a download option at all. While it would be nice to download to a Windows computer, this is not a must-have for me.) [Conjecture ON: Perhaps this is one way that Diathrive can keep the cost of this meter down; no need to pay the royalty for a USB connector on every single meter that many people would never use.... ] Bonus points to Diathrive for their website; which includes lots of educational info (including a detailed discussion about accuracy of glucometers). Company seems to have a philosophy to provide quality care at an affordable price. Value for money is excellent for this meter.

I had to use this on my father in law each day, and he gave me no complaints about it. Besides that he felt like a pin cushion, lol. It was accurate and easy to use. I would recommend this to anyone.

I was diagnosed pre-diabetic about 2 yrs ago...but didnt taken it seriously, but as of late was feeling horrible, lightheaded and general feeling of malaise. I was browsing amazon and saw these and thought maybe I should test my sugar because my New Doctor us clueless and I will be switching My PCP....okay I digress...anywho skip forward to the good part, so I read the directions (tip: the quick start is excellent) and I was in shock my fasting blood sugar after waking up was 136 !!!!! OMG, and on more than one occasion after monitoring for a few days, but in the meantime I completely stopped eating, sugar, carbs, starch and went to the grocery store and bought keto type food....in just 5 days I lost 6lbs and my blood sugar has been reading great after just 5dys of recieving this meter. This Blood Glucose Meter Literally Saved My Life !!! Thank you Diathrive !!! 😀💖💖💖

Once you get it - read instructions on how to setup as interface is not super intuitive. If you mess up do not worry - just reset it and start over. It took us a few tries before we can start using it - it requires a particular way of applying blood drop to the strip, otherwise it will just seat and do nothing. Instructions are in both English and Spanish. Comes with everything you need to start.Recommend but familiarize yourself first

I purchased this glucose meter to help me keep track of my prediabetes. I was hesitant at first thinking this brand couldn’t compete with brand name meters. I WAS WRONG! not only is it accurate but price point wise it’s a bargain!

Never having used one of these before it was a little daunting reading the instructions. But using the quick start guide I got through it and found it easy to use once I understood the premise of how these devices operate. It comes with more test strips and lancets than any of the others which is a great money saver. The only thing I found frustrating was setting the meter levels such as hyper/hypo etc. There is no way to move the count down and it doesn't tell you that you need to cycle all the way up through the numbers to start at the bottom again. Nor does it mention how high you have to go to restart counter. Quite high. As mentioned I've never used a meter before so I have nothing to compare it too but so far happy with the results and ease of use.

It would have been nice if the manual were available online in PDF format. The text in the supplied manual is so small most people need a magnifying glass to read.

Purchased as I was looking for a cheaper alternative to testing strip cost. Meter read almost 50mg higher than my Freestyle Lite meter on a consistent basis. Readings were all over the place. I wouldn’t bet my life on this one. I returned it immediately, still having to spend for the higher priced testing strips.
