Katai Flag Pole Rope Kit - 80ft 1/4 Inch Thick Nylon White Halyard Rope for Flagpole - Complete with 4 Hook Clips

We needed a new rope to open and close our sun umbrella. The old one had over a few years degraded due to exposure and broken. Since this is sold as a flagpole rope, we hope it will do for a few years. The rope is much longer than we needed so we had to cut it. You really need to do this with a hot knife then melt the end of the rope because the outer sheath really does fray badly however I did not have what we needed to end and sort of managed to do the cut and tie off the rope.The rope seems quite strong but also not particularly well laid. There are some handy plastic clips provided for use if this is being used with a flag but for our purpose I don't think they would last long so I tied of with a rethreaded figure of eight knot, easier on the original end that the one that I had cut.

The item was received early and is now holding my flag securely on display. I would buy the item again when I need it.

We used the rope for our indoor pulley but found it too slippery to handle especially when the pull was loaded. I then used the rest on our flagpole. It lasted just 7 months before breaking twice. It probably has its uses however we won't be purchasing it again.
