American who has followed Syria since the first peaceful protest of the revolution
Great insight on the author's journey into activism and all those he encountered along the way .. including many stories from war-torn Syria. Very painful to learn of the tremendous suffering and human rights abuses by the Syrian government, including countless accounts of imprisonment and torture.

A great and precious work
As I read this book, I cried many times and felt painful and torn. And that's what's happening right now.The Syrian Civil War is not just a civil war. It is a slaughter and a destruction of human life. And in front of the iron and gunpowder of those who destroy and kill, the living human body is quite vulnerable. However, the vulnerable thing is human beings, and it is human nature to deal with the vulnerabilities carefully and humblingly. The author meticulously records the lives of vulnerable people destroyed in the war. They are records of the lives of people who are neither heroes nor activists. I truly respect the polite approach of the authors to their lives.
