This assortment no only looks really classy on a shelf (it displays REALLY well) it adds a lot of versatility to the type of old fashioned you're looking to make. I have a pretty wide assortment of bitters in my home bar and these have immediately become a favorite over a couple of gatherings we have.I did want to call out specifically the ORANGE bitters that come with this set. They are hands down the BEST orange bitters I've ever used. I usually drink whiskey (normally scotch) neat, but when out at a bar or restaurant I'll sometimes go with an old fashioned. At home, I've amassed several bottles of bourbon, rye, scotch, and other whiskeys that I just don't care for neat. So I thought it would be nice to make an old fashioned occasionally to get through some of the stuff I won't drink otherwise (and just for a change of pace.) This gift set has a great selection of bitters and aromatics to try, in the pictures I made one with rye and orange bitters. It was great with a little simple syrup and a nice ay to change things up a bit. It comes with some recipes (that are honestly kind of unusual, to me an old fashioned always has some type of whiskey base) but nothing wrong with trying new things. And you don't really need a recipe anyway - liquor, bitters, simple syrup. Usually a rock or two, maybe a twist. (If I had any orange I would have rimmed the glass with a twist.) So experiment, but you can easily keep it simple too with this set.

Overall, this is a good, classic set of bitters featuring many of the staples. A great gift or addition to a bar for anyone who enjoys making cocktails. The flavors overall are great and I'd recommend this to anyone who is in search of bitters for drinks or even mocktails.

We, and many of our friends have recently gotten into different bourbons and regularly have tastings/cocktail nights. These bitters are a great addition to our samplings. This is a great variety for testing, whether you like fresh & fruity or woodsy/spice. The set is nicely packaged and would be excellent for gifting, as well. It's a great way to try some new cocktail recipes (and the set comes with a recipe card for a few ideas). The bitters are very good quality brands and the aromatics are excellent. I especially love the Orange, which you would swear you just twisted an orange rind over your drink. I'm not a big fan of clove flavoring, but even the bitters that have that taste is subtle enough for enhancement of certain flavor profiles. I highly recommend this set if you're experimenting with different flavors for your drinks, adding a depth to the taste, enhancing the flavor as a pinch of seasoning in your food may do.

I do not drink alcohol, but I enjoy experimenting with bitters for non alcoholic drinks. (There is a marginal amount of alcohols in bitters, but a couple of drops will go a long way) I taste tested each of these bitters with plain soda water, first, to see how they tasted with a "blank canvass." All of them were great, especially the orange bitters. I then added sweetener and various diet lemon lime and orange sodas. I also tried them over sugar syrup and crushed ice. I was very impressed with the quality of the ingredients, and how smooth everything tasted. Finally, I ask folks in my household to give them a try, and they made a lot of old fashions, margaritas and one of the recipes that came with the gift box. It was fun, and everyone enjoyed the taste and experimentation. Overall, this would make a great gift.
