No, it is NOT. The manufacturer has confirmed that they do NOT pasteurize this product.

The taramosalata arrives sealed and is not refrigerated. However, when you open it, refrigeration is required. Quite delicious, just like you would find in a fine Greek restaurant.

Does anyone know the sodium content?

160mg per 1 Tbsp serving. 1 Tbsp is 11g total, so sodium content is about 1.5%. About as low as you can go and still preserve it.
