This planter is a very high-quality cedar wood, it was very well designed and engineered which made assembling it very easy and enjoyable. It came with all the needed tools to assemble it, and also it came with the landscape cloth for the inside before adding the soil. The size from the outside was just perfect for my area and from the inside to hold tonnes of plants, I am using it for my herb garden and they look just fantastic. Very well balanced on the floor but it gets very heavy when filled with soil, it will need either a gravel or a solid floor to sit on.*** This product was received for free under Amazon Vine program

Solid cedar raised flower box is just beautiful. The pieces are crafted from solid cedar and have the lovely reddish, honey and sandy colours that cedar is known for. The cedar box pieces have been nicely sanded so there are no rough edges. The wood is left natural, no stain or finish coat to it, so it will age and patina naturally over time. The steel legs are solid, single pieces of steel, giving strength to framing the box. The black coating on the legs provides a protective, rust resistant finish with no paint run or pooling marks. The bottom is assembled with a number of cedar slats that rest on the box frame and have pre-drilled water drainage holes. There is also a thick landscape cloth that generously lines the inside of the box for soil retention. Watch the video to follow along with the assembly instructions. Assembly was easy, it took about 15-20 minutes to complete, including watching the video first before assembly, then playing it again as we followed along, pausing it as we progressed. The kit comes with all of the components, hardware and hand tools required for assembly. Great quality made product!

This cedar planter looks exactly the same in person as it does in the product description photos - it's gorgeous. It smells like cedar, too, which is lovely. It arrives flat packed and was very straightforward to put together, taking me about 20 minutes total. The assembly instructions are provided via a qt code that leads to a youtube video, which I don't really like, I would have preferred written instructions with pictures. The video was good, though, easy to follow, I'm just not a video person. To each their own! I used a drill to put the planter together and I would recommend using a drill if you've got one - it made assembly a breeze.This planter stands sturdy, no wobble. It comes with drainage holes, which is very important, and enough landscape fabric to use for the first year's plant.The cedar planter is true to size. It's winter in Alberta so I just assembled it in my basement, I won't be planting anything in it and bringing it outside until the summer, but I can't wait. It's going to look incredible filled with annuals on my front porch this summer. This is a really nice cedar planter - attractive and well made. I personally wouldn't hesitate to pick up another one for herbs.
