The lid has broken after 8 weeks through no fault of my own. Very unhappy with this product.
Having used the jug for just 2 months, I'm disappointed to to say that the lid has broken and no longer works. I had one a previously that lasted 6 years so I think this one is definitely faulty.... expensive too 🙁

I got the broken one!! Now you can order without the fear of getting it now!
Okay, some reviews mentioned a broken jug, that kept being sent. I got that one for £15. It was sold as new by the Amazon warehouse but without proper packaging. It was actually BROKEN! I think it's down to the design of the jug, that this happened. It's not obvious that one shouldn't lift the lid, but rather press on it, to pour out the drink. I think many clueless customers must have tried too hard to pull the lift off and broke it (separate it from the real lid which is a screw top). Fortunately with a piece of velcro tape tucked under the lid, I managed to keep it in place seamlessly. The jug is beautiful and works well at keeping drinks warm although the first few drinks I had, tasted metallic... I think the technical design could be improved in regards of the lid and also the price tag is too high. I often travel to Portugal and buy a couple of kitchenware there, they are always good quality and rather cheap. I am sure this jug is overpriced here in amazon.

Keeps drinks and water hot, flow rate a bit slow
Bought this on the recommendation of the wifey. We use a lot of hot water for making hot drinks and cooking so often find it handy to have a thermos flask around to keep water hot for long periods of time. Our old thermos was a basic steel flask which didn't match the decor of the kitchen in our new home. Was a bit apprehensive of buying this because of its outer plastic construction and the reviews of everyone stating that the lid would come broken or would break easily. However people generally tend to leave negative reviews more often than positive ones, so here goes.Purchased and found ours to be in perfect working order so no broken lid, good start.Hot water placed inside of it will stay scalding hot for several hours, so the seal is very good. I would recommend that if you do place anything hot in the flask, once you have closed it, give it about 10 to 15 seconds before just lightly actuating the lid to relieve pressure from within the flask. We now have a flask which matches the decor of our kitchen. My only complaint is that when using the pouring spout, the water flow is very slow in my opinion, i tend to remove the lid entirely and pour it out of the flask directly.
