The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf CBTL Single Serve Coffee, Tea, and Espresso Maker for CBTL Single Serve Capsules - Black

My older 10134 I had for 10 years started leaking. The best coffee I ever drank was made by that machine. CBTL didn't set up the unit so the customer could replace a simple gasket. The new unit, a Lieto model S08, looks more modern, but eventually the same will happen. Although it still makes delicious coffee, it's really not the same. I miss the "tea kettle" sound, the steam the 10134 would make after heating the water. The S08 is quiet and sealed.. The aroma of brewing is still there, and I like the idea of being able to push the brew button after it stops brewing to fill up the cup even more. There's also the indicator lights on the S08, which are LED's that flash after the machine enters a sleep-mode (not heating). The dial led in particular flashes intensely enough so that at night I have to cover them with a dry washcloth. I also modified the chrome tray so that it fits the base, allowing me to use a 12oz cup. It still is the best brewed coffee.

My original "CBTL Americano 10134" recently died after over 10 years of daily use. I calculated it made nearly 10,000 cups of espresso americano! I never used filtered water on it as recommended. Anyway so I had to buy the new model and I can make these observations:Pros- Slightly more compact design- Tray holds many more used cups, old design about 8, this looks like it can hold at least double- Nicer looking and more modern- Easily removable cup holderCons- No more 12 ounce setting, my usual pour so i need to press twice and watch brew :(- Power switch very close to bottom of unit, could be shock hazard if counter is wet- Water reservoir holds less waterUpdate: 4-24-20Somehow the water reservoir cover is cracked almost completely in half The blue ring flashes orange which indicates the need for descaling. I descaled twice and the light is still flashing. My old model never needed descaling so I am rather disappointed.

The reason I gave it a 3 star is because the machine began to fail 3 months after use. All of a sudden it began to leak water and my coffees began to come as half the size. The water began to fall in the pod waste chamber. So I lost a ton of coffee. I followed the de-escalation instructions 2 times, and the problem persisted. I reached out to the manufacturer to get a replacement and nobody responded. I reached out to Amazon, and they refunded my money and I returned the machine. I love CBTL coffee much more than Starbucks, so right now I am not sure which one I will purchase.

Love the taste of the coffee but unfortunately this machine didn’t last long. I only make one or two cups a day. The canister which holds the water cracked within a few days. The long espresso was never the 120oz it says in the manual which is a total waste. The first machine (older model) I had prior to this one lasted a good several years. Also the water leaks into the compartment which holds the used capsules. It’s a real shame because the Italian Espresso is my favorite. Very poorly made.

We loved this machine until it STOPPED working after only 3 months...makes yummy coffee...bUT it is FINICKY! Had to trouble shoot several times b/c it was working, then it would, now its stopped completely...frustrating! But was good when it worked

I am very disappointed in this coffee maker. It leaks all over my counter - both coffee and water. I leaks if I use it and then leaks for a while afterwards. I would like to return it and get a new one. However, my boyfriend has the same coffee maker and it also leaks. He has emailed over this several times but never gets a response. I love coffee and I love CBTL coffee. But, this coffee maker is a mess and is hazardous. Please let me know what I should do. Since both of the coffee makers I know of (mine and my boyfriend's) both leak, I am not really keen on a replacement. But, if you think a new machine will work, then I want a replacement. If not, then I want to return it and receive a refund. I am disappointed because I used to have one that I bought from a CBTL store that was great, but I gave it to my daughter thinking I would just by a new one. The new one is awful.

Was initially upset about the limited (3) cup sizes for dispensing, and the inability of reprogramming the amount of coffee for each of the cup sizes. However, after using this product for a month now, it’s routine now to dispense first on the smallest size (takes about 10 seconds, followed immediately by the largest size. That quick combo makes a great, strong, consistent cup of coffee.

This little unit is great. It makes a great cup of coffee or espresso and for the price it can't be beat. Way better than my Kierig.
