Great Light Therapy Mask - Using this for pimples/irritation - Decent Fit
The media could not be loaded. Great Light Therapy Mask - The mask material is flexible and there are some nice features. There are 7 different lights, each can be adjusted to a power strength 1-5, and then there is a timer 10, 15, and 20 minutes. The light needs to be powered by USB-C, either a wall outlet or a portable charged battery, both are included. The settings are controlled by a controller on the wire and it is not too complicated.Using this for pimples/irritation - So far it feels efficacious, maybe not miraculous. But I feel like there are less pimples and irritated areas after a few weeks.Regimen - After washing my face and putting on moisturizer, I put on the mask, close my eyes, and meditate for 15 minutes. I will either do blue or red light at highest strength, since those colors are supposed to be good for pimples. One day I will do blue, the next red and so on. So far there have been no side effects in terms of sensitivity, irritation, or dryness. I started at level 2 for 10 minutes and increased it every day. After the lights turn off, my closed eyes will usually notice the difference then I will stop.Decent Fit - The mask comes with 2 pairs of eye socket pads (for a total of 4). I am glad there are 2 different sizes to use, since I need to use the larger one and the smaller one will put too much pressure on my eyes. These will help block the light and also create some cushion since the mask will basically sit on it, the mask doesn't touch the face except at these points. They basically pop in to a specific crevice in the mask, so if the mask is roughly handled the eye cushions can easily pop out. There are 3 straps, one on top and 1 on each side. It takes a bit of practice knowing which eye sockets to use, how to orient them, and how to put on the straps. At first it took minutes, but now it takes me less than a minute usually to find the right position for everything. If the correct position is not used, the eye cushions can rest uncomfortably on the eyes directly or squeeze them too much, so a lot of trial and error needs to be done to find the correct comfortable position.

An interesting red light therapy mask
While I have never tried any product to smooth wrinkles or improve my facial skin appearance, I thought I would give this LED red light therapy a try. There are any number of scientific articles describing red light therapy and its potential benefits with few if any side effects. The Hottoerak red light therapy mask arrived well-packed in its own gift box that was shrink-wrapped in plastic. The dark gray silicone light mask is on the upper level along with an instruction booklet, and beneath it are the attached control unit, portable power bank, power block, USB charging cable, two black and two gray eye cups, a white carry bag, and three white Velcro head straps. The mask provides seven LED colors/wavelengths, five intensity levels (1 to 5), and a 10-15-20 minute timer. While the manual does a good job of explaining light therapy and how to use the mask, it does not explain how to attach the Velcro headstraps or how to insert the eye cups. Fortunately, there are photos in the ad that help guide you in attaching them. The silicone mask had an intense rubbery odor when first opened, which did dissipate after remaining out for 5-6 days. Although plenty large and stable with the three Velcro straps, I found the mask somewhat claustrophobic and uncomfortable, which is unusual since I have been used to wearing a CPAP mask for many years. The eye cups do not do a great job of shielding the eyes from the red light. The controller works as it is supposed to, and its long USB-A plug can be plugged into either the power block or the portable power bank. The power bank has four white LEDs indicating remaining charge as well as two USB-A ports for both the mask and another product. The USB charging cable is used to recharge the power bank as needed. The instructions say to use the mask on red light at intensity 2-3 for 10 minutes 3-5 times a week initially, then adjust as desired. At the Level 4 intensity, I found the mask caused very slight warmth to my face after several minutes, but was never uncomfortable. Results are supposed to be visible after about a month of use, so only time will tell how well the red light therapy works. The manufacturer provides a 60-day money back and one year warranty. I award the Hottoerak red light therapy mask 4 stars.

Red Light Therapy Mask
As this is a long-term, cumulative effect sort of product using a therapy that is not scientifically proven, I will speak to the quality and comfort of the device in this review. This mask is very well made, and because of the flexible format of the design, it is quite comfortable for me to wear. I don't usually like things touching my nose, but this mask doesn't seem to bother me, thankfully. I like that it has three head straps. They make it simple to get just the right fit with minimal adjustment. The flexibility of the mask lets it conform to your face shape as well. I don't like the eye protectors though. For me, they do not do a good job of blocking the light from the eyes, and I only use this mask with my eyes closed to avoid potential damage. One of the great features of this mask is that it comes with a portable power bank. This makes it much more convenient to use, especially for those who feel fine wearing the mask with their eyes open. You could potentially get other things done while wearing the mask. It's also nice to have so many time, color, and intensity combinations. You are sure to find the perfect settings with this mask.
