Dorman 911-105 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid Compatible with Select Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Models

fits perfect on my 2006 explorer

Had a check engine code and it went out after replacing this. It fit perfectly.

There are 2 purge valves. At the canister end & at the engine end. This one is the canister end under the spare tire.It is difficult to replace since the spare needs to be taking out & then the 3 bolts to drop the assembly. After that you have to get the 2 hoses off & the electric connector. All on your back. If you get a P0442 code this is likely the culprit.

Worked just fine, didn't take long to get done.

I used this Dorman 911-105 Vapor Canister Vent Valve on my wife's 2008 Ford Explorer (Eddie Bauer 4.0 V-6). She was getting a check engine code that the parts store said was due to this valve going bad. Replacement was kind of a pain (just because of where the brain trust at Ford decided to stash it), but not too difficult. Once I did get this part replaced, I was able to clear the engine code and it has not returned. So, I would recommend this part to somebody, but I hope I do not have to replace it again anytime soon.

5 minute replacement job on this shut the check system light on a 2007 Explorer. Pressure could not build in the gas tank because the original was in a stuck open position. forgot the PO code but you can easily put a volt meter on the power connection to see if a change after starting vehicle and if valve doesn't close then ez fix.

Removed that annoying check engine light on my 2006 Ford explorer. Super easy to install. Should have done it last year when the light went on... Lights still off 7 months later. So far so good.

Check engine light is off now and I can actually fill the fuel tank without the pump nozzle shutting off every couple seconds.

Part was garbage first time i ordered an returned for a new one, second came and garbage aswell!!!!
