This is the coolest mini pc I have ever used. I have like 5 gaming pcs, including multiple 4080s, 4070, etc...and I spend more time on this thing now than any of them LOL. It's just so FUN, I dont know how to explain it. Works great on a plane. I didn't realize just how many games are really optimized for this kind of form factor and control. I've been such a pc maniac. I literally played Dragon Age 100% on this device to the end and I was bored playing it on my 4080 pc with a 42 inch oled screen. I guess bigger is not better, and sometimes form factor really makes a game, strangely. My only negative is the battery doesn't last very long, but you heard that already from other reviews. I mostly play plugged in, even on planes, with no issue.

I feel compelled to write a review of this as a gaming enthusiast.Firstly, Asus has done a wonderful job with this. The Armoury Crate software makes life infinitely easier for a Windows handheld. This device allows you to have the simplicity of a Steam Deck with the simplicity of all of the backend stuff you can do with Windows.Who is this for? If you want a purely plug and play experience with no tinkering whatsoever, I'd probably recommend the Steam Deck. If you want to be able to have full control over your system and not have to deal with Linux and the quirks that come with it and have better performance than the Steam Deck, this should be your pick.Pros: Armoury Crate software gives it a more console like experience similar to SteamOS, better performance, Windows 11 simplicity of use, better screen, in my personal opinion better controls, higher quality materials used in construction, RGB if that's your thing, wonderful buttons and sticks, very lightweight and not quite as bulky as the Steam Deck.Cons: Lesser battery life (you can upgrade this though), some upfront Windows tinkering if you want the most performance, wish it came in black as well (looking at you ROG Ally X).

Uses stock windows 11 home, aside from armory crate.So comes with all the bloatware i.e. office365, etc etc. Does not work well, you touch a text tab and need to use a button shortcut to bring up keyboard.I would think a major mfg could get or create a customized, stripped down version of windows without all the extra crap.Not likely to want to use office on a game device. Or need all the defender stuff. I'm not going to be web browsing. Used to be you can turn that off, but it's a hack now.This was probably the seller, but they touted a hub it came with. Very useless USB A type connector which the device does not have.Device also lacks a touchpad that most of the others have.

I bought this product to see how it works as a Windows 11 device and it works just like a Win11 tablet. I also bought it to see how well it works with pc games. Ultimately I wanted to play a PC game with Xbox controllability. Although configuring it to sync with my Xbox account was rather time consuming and tedious, it does work. As a result it functions like a game deck and like Windows 11 pc. You can even dock it and connect to a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I prefer to use it as a hand held device.

Device itself is OK. Runs most games, as other reviewers noted. What sparked a low review was that this model has an issue with the SD card reader, a fault in the hardware that after a bit of research it turns out ASUS is well aware of and is STILL shipping these products regardless. I did all the recommended troubleshooting (which amounts to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, but is necessary to get their support to act), then had to send the device in to be repaired. To their credit, the guy on the support line didn't even blink, he asked what steps I tried and then immediately printed a ticket. I am very unsatisfied that within days of getting this new toy I had to immediately ship it back, and am as of this writing still waiting on its return.

originally purchased for travel, but i find myself playing it more than playing on PC. whether its emulation, or playing straight from steam, the interface makes it as simple and comprehensive as possible. 0 learning curve, immediate fun!

I love this thing! Like the steam deck only not limited to steam. The software is simple and straightforward. The performance is amazing considering it’s a handheld!
