Great, easy to use machine!
I've been sewing forever and have a really nice, expensive Bernina but, because I'm remodeling my house, it's packed away and I can't get to it. When I became quarantined, I wanted to start sewing face masks but I didn't have a machine. I decided to buy an inexpensive machine that I could use to sew masks and other things now that I'm in confinement. I also justified it because I figure I can use it soon to teach my grandchildren to sew. They're toddlers now, but it won't be long before they're ready to learn. Anyhow, I read some reviews and chose this machine. I didn't know that it was made by Bernina. Right out of the box, I was able to start sewing with it. Everything is where it should be so it's kind of intuitive. Everything works well and runs smoothly. The bobbin winds perfectly. It's sews beautifully. I am super happy with it and now I'm not sure I really need that fancy, does everything machine that's packed away... I am very pleased with this purchase!

Good machine for money
After lots of research I purchased this machine. I like the weight of the machine, and the ease in learning the use of the machine. It does not have needle up needle down as I thought it did. The reviews were very confusing on this. I should have went with my gut and moved on But great little machine for the money.

Not for an avid machine sewing
This machine is sturdy but not a good choice for piecing quilts. There is not a even transition from the tool box to the switch plate which causes the nested folds to come undone. There’s no option for the needle to stop in the down position to hold your piecing in place while double checking matching seams. If you don’t mind not being able to use the tool box you can put tape over the transition that goes to the needle plate to help with matching your seams. There no way to open the head cover when threading the machine. So it’s hard to see what your doing. Needless to say I hope the light never blows out because it’s in there somewhere.Get used to hand turning the machine to put your needle up or down when stopping. There’s no option for it.With that being said...it’s good for patching blue jeans.I’ll probably replace it with something different.

This is a good sewing machine to start with for newbies
I chose this sewing machine because it is very easy to use and the company itself. Bernina = highest quality standards!!! As a newbie, I wanted a mechanical machine that was easy to operate. I am very pleased with my sturdy sewing machine.

I love everything about this sewing machine
This machine is easy to use, it even has a automatic threader. To fill the bobbin is a breeze, and sewing and choosing what stitch you wish to use and length is so easy. I am so happy with this purchase.

Very nice machine . . .
Used it straight out of the box. Runs very smooth. Instructions are easy to follow. Only tested on light jobs (Mending jeans, hemming pants etc . . . ). Time will tell how well it holds up under use. So far, so good . . .
