Bright, Compact, and Reliable Backup Dive Light
I’ve been really impressed with the Odepro WD12 as a compact backup dive light. The 1400 lumens are more than enough for a true backup—bright, clear beam with good throw and solid hotspot definition. It cuts through darker water better than I expected for a light this size. Build quality feels durable and well-sealed. The body is compact and easy to clip off to a D-ring without feeling bulky or in the way. Operation is simple and intuitive, even with gloves on, and the three modes give you flexibility without overcomplicating things. Battery life has been solid for my dives, and it performs reliably in both night dives and overhead environments where a dependable backup light really matters. Overall, this is a great value for divers looking for a dependable, bright, and compact backup light. I would absolutely purchase again.

Outstanding build quality
Likes and dislikes? I like flashlights. I have several dozen for all purposes (including a couple of high-end Streamlight models) and usually a gripe or two about some feature of every one of them. I dislike writing reviews. I dislike LED light in general... too "white", too bright, too much contrast, hot spots in the beam... it's probably these "old school" eyes. That said, this my new FAVORITE LIGHT of all of them, including incandescents. Quality materials, rock solid build throughout, and the best button "feel" and function of all the lights I own. I prefer the button on the side rather than in the tail and this unit fits my hand perfectly with the button right under my thumb (using a "golf" grip). Nothing gimmick-y about it. No sliding barrel focus, no zillions of handy-dandy "modes". High-Low-Off, High-Low-Off. Repeat. There is a strobe function (dazzling, actually) that can ONLY be accessed via a 3-second button press AFTER the light is on (high or low). One more press and you are back to the High-Low-Off cycle. This does not make the strobe mode difficult to access, it makes it simple and painless to AVOID under near-all situations, and I cannot stress how much I like this functional programming design. It, alone, is worth a 6th star to me. Other manufacturers take note. This is how it's done. Function first. Bells and whistles intuitively (and avoidably) elsewhere. Per the beam, it's (ahem) spot on. As noted above, the focus is not adjustable (another plus in my book). I'd call it a medium to tight flood. From 12' away from a white wall, I am illuminating an 18' diameter with a fairly clean edge. Brightness gets more intense toward the center (of course), but it is a nice, smooth gradient throughout... consistent with no hot spots. Photographers should love that (you know why). Low beam is identical to high, just fewer lumens. High beam is quite bright. For most dive purposes (general exploring, wreck dives, lobster hide-outs), I will likely use low beam 90% of the time. Plenty of usable light and a closer look is two presses away (Off-High). Perfect. My unit came with 2x 18650 3000 mAh batteries with "button top" anodes (only one needed at a time in the light), a nice AC100-240v charger, lanyard with clip, clear instruction manual, and two spare O-rings to seal the battery compartment. I could not be happier with the "bang for the buck" of this purchase. I'll be back for several more, even one for the car (which rarely goes underwater). Thank you, Odepro. Excellent materials, design, and execution. You guys hit it out of the park with this one. Much success!

A great dive light!!!
What a great dive light! The size and weight are handy to always bring it with you (without issue), the output in power and beam are great, and the quality of the construction is/feels top notch! For the money (or any money) I could not be happier! I think I will be giving these as presents to my dive buddies! It included the charger, two batteries, spare O-rings, and had a nice lanyard installed on it. The packaging was also nice. I have three other dive lights by big name companies in the same lumen range as the Odepro WD12 (the three I own are rated at 1200 lumens, the WD12 is 1050 lumens), but the WD12 is the smallest form factor of the lot (see pictures for size/scale). The first thing I did was to charge one of the two provided batteries with the provided charger. The charger is nice, it is a single cell charger and the LED indicates red when charging and green when the cycle has completed. I works great, feels well made, very comparable to the other chargers that I have received with much more expensive dive lights. Once the first battery was fully charged, I did a head to head test by comparing the light against a wall against the 1200 lumen lights that I own (short test so I wouldn’t damage the lights by running them out of the water). It definitely puts out about the same amount of light as the other lights, and the beam is very nice (a decent spot/flood type beam so a center weighted beam that still gives you some flood (very nice for diving to not have a laser like flood)). The color temperature is also not as white/blue as most lights, which should help in lower visibility water. So, the rated output seems absolutely legit. After the quick brightness and beam test, I filled up a large container of cool water and did a test of the 2-hour run-time on the high setting. I did this test immediately after the battery charger signaled “green” and after playing around with it for a little while, but the light still shined at the 2-hour mark. The light output does begin to fall off a bit at the end of the run, which is WAY better than just shutting off (you know when your light is running out of power both by the handy indicator on the switch (which works, green, red, flashing red) and the output dimming a bit). So the rated run-time is also absolutely legit, even when I started with a slightly used battery. This thing will easily outlast your air on night dives, or days of “as needed” usage during the day. With the extra battery, you probably don’t need to charge very often. Conclusion: This little light packs a big light punch in a tiny package. I am very happy with it, and I cannot wait to dive with it! I will update this review after testing it in the field. ***Update 6/2020; I have used this on a bunch of dives, including a couple 100’ dives without issue. It is a great light. I will update if any issues arise, but I am very happy with this unit.

So far this seems to be a great flashlight for the price!
A friend sent me a link to this dive torch, recommending it to me. I decided to give it a try-I placed the order here on Amazon and smack during the holiday season it came promptly the next day-thank you Santa! I liked the product packaging as there is little waste with this packaging, no wasted plastic trays etc. Most of this is recyclable or I can use it around home. Anyhow for the flashlight itself, it’s a very well built sturdy flashlight. I will say when I went to open it to put the batteries in it took me some bit of time. I think a giant put it together at the factory because it was sealed so tight, I was second guessing how to open it. I also like that they have the battery direction printed on the outside for anyone who doesn’t know by sight which way the positive side of the battery goes. I don’t know if this is good or bad, if it will eventually wear off since it will be used with all my dives. The beam on this light is VERY bright on land and I just attached a quick video showing high and low beam on my bed blanket with no lights on near dusk. So it’s taken in a dimly lit room. I’m excited to get this out on my dives to give it a try. I do like that they send me two batteries with it so I have a backup. The only thing I can say would be better as I unpack this is that now you can get rechargeable batteries where the charging cord is plugged directly into the battery. This would eliminate one more thing I need to pack on a dive trip. As divers we are always trying to lessen the load on our dive trips so that would be great if that were to change. The wrist strap was attached already so aside from popping the battery in it was ready for use out of the box. Overall, at first sight I’m very happy with the amount of output on the light so far and of the quality of the product. It feels very well made. I’ll know more when I get out in the water with it and will post an update as soon as I can after diving with this light. Currently I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a dive light given what I have seen so far of this light. The price point is good, judging so far this is a great product for the cost.

Small but powerful with a good on/off button
Really like this dive light. It is smaller than I thought it would be. It has a high and low setting, but the low setting is already powerful enough for most dives, which helps save battery. The push-button on/off switch is a big advantage for me, much easier to handle than the sliding ones, especially when these often ‘slide on’ by themselves.

Beautiful light, but had leaking issues.
I really wanted to love this light, I really did. It performs excellently, and the extras that come with it (spare battery, dual charger, etc.) are a major bonus, but I guess I got the luck of the draw, and one of the two I purchased leaked water on the first dive in the sealed part of the head, most likely through the switch area. The battery compartment was fully dry, only water up in the lens area. The color and price are amazing for this light, but leaking just cannot be tolerated. I did not further investigate where the water intrusion was, as the manual said not to disassemble the front portion of the light, so I didn't. That is another no-go for me. A dive light needs to be able to be fully disassembled for maintenance and seal lubrication / replacement. If I cannot do basic maintenance on it, it is the wrong light for me. Other than this issue, I love the light. It would probably be a great light for general usage, but maybe not so much for SCUBA.

Great Light
great little light - plenty bright and great battery life for a single 18650 battery. Completed a 90min dive on high the whole time with no brightness drop and still in "green" indicator. Was looking for a push-button 18650 and this was a great find.

Excellent Dive Light!
I purchased this light as it seemed smaller in size than some of the bigger bulky, hand held lights that are available. I was also curious of the quality for such a good price. I was hoping it would be useful in searching for Megalodon teeth on this past weekend’s trip or when looking around the reef edge while pleasure diving. When I received the WD12 I was pleasantly surprised that it was exactly as advertised and worth every penny and more. It fits very comfortably in your hand and has a well placed on/off switch that doesn’t require adjusting how you hold the light to turn it on and off. The switch is also recessed into the light’s body so it was easy to find without having to constantly look for it. The light has a super bright setting and a dimmer setting by simply pressing the button. It also has a strobe feature for getting your buddies attention if you hold the button in for a few seconds. This feature is accessible from either the bright or dim modes but not from an off position. The light comes with not one but two 18650 3000 mAh batteries and a charger. Not sure how long the light will last but my wife and I used it for two dives on a single battery (approximately 90 min but we did turn on and off at times). The power switch has an led indicator ring that I assume shows green, yellow, and red, but mine is still showing green! The light is sealed with dual o-rings (extra set provided) so not worried about it flooding, and has a wrist strap with a clip so you can easily hang it on a D-ring from your BC (which is what I did). Despite having decent visibility and a bright sun overhead in 30 feet of water the WD12 did an awesome job of making the fossilized sharks teeth really pop in the sand! I highly recommend this light as I will definitely be purchasing a few more for my wife and daughter. Video of the dive and some photos showing the light in my pool below.
