PROXXON Micromot MP 300 MICRO Thicknesser Shaper

This tool is well designed, delivers great results and is a pleasure to use.It is designed primarily for model makers and similar crafts to precisely machine small timber.The finish produced is excellent. I have been using it to plane mahogany down to 1mm thick strips for model ship building. No further finishing was required.It is expensive compared to larger but more crudely made machines but in my opinion the results justify extra cost.

Do not buy Proxxon products because in my opinion they are little more than seriously overpriced toys. You will not be able to do anything useful with them as they do not appear to be fit for purpose. Worse if you have a problem no one is prepared to help. Your supplier will simply refer you to the parent country who will do nothing for you. I purchased the Proxxon table saw, the lathe and the thicknesser for my daughter who makes dolls house furniture. None of the products was any use and for the same outlay I could have bought proper woodworking equipment. The circular saw stops if you try to cut anything thicker than cardboard. The thicknesser is the same. If you ask it to plane a few microns off 2cm wide soft wood it stalls.These tools are exorbitantly priced toys and I guarantee you will be very disappointed with their performance. The thicknesser broke down after a a period of just over a year during which time it saw minimum use simply because it was essentially useless. It now needs a major repair but neither the supplier nor Proxxon is interested in helping. So my advice is do not under any circumstances purchase these tools. For the same outlay on the Proxxon thicknesser you can get a DeWalt machine. If you have reservation about these comments simply compare the motor power of the Proxxon thicknesser with that that of any other small bench mounted thicknesser.

Ho praticamente tutto Proxxon e questa macchina non si smentisce. Precisa e ben fatta anche se un po’ troppo cara ma questa è Proxxon.

Lavora molto bene; attenzione alle tavolette molto sottili (meno di 2 millimetri) che a causa delle vibrazioni delle stesse potrebbero avere qualche scheggiatura. Si consiglia di usare in questi casi uno spessore. Per il resto non ci sono problemi. nell'insieme ottima macchina.
