The USDH inspector never saw such a thing! It works great!! Install was very confusing, so my struggle is your gain! But we figured it out and it does everything it's supposed to. Very easy to clean! I can't seem to get the Amazon App to upload my video and pictures, but basically: gray hose is the outlet. Yellow valve comes out the front. You need a piece of pex or flexible hose to connect your drain to the top hole. The top hole does NOT seal!!! I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it works. It won't overflow unless you've let the trap outlets clog up. But with the basket and elbow, and grease trapping, it's very unlikely. The top hole cannot be sealed or you won't be able to get the lid off for cleaning. For cleaning, I detached the gray hose and picked the whole trap up like a bucket, took it outside, drained the gray water into the storm drain, scooped out the solids with paper towels, then hosed the whole thing off. Carried it back inside and hooked it back up!!! I run a smoothie shop. The only bits I found in the trap were coffee beans and strings from my rags. The coffee grinds sunk to the bottom and I scooped them out with paper towels.

For the price of under $70 for something stainless and tig'd is very reasonable. There is no need for a seal on top because you should check it regularly and not let the water get to the level of overflowing. If you want to spend over $1000 for a unit and have it professionally installed then do so and don't complain. I'll just be glad we don't have to dig up and unclog our septic vent once year for $70 and something I can easily clean.

Ok it does the job as it is designed to do. It is lightweight and easy to install. CAUTION! very unfinnished sharp edges inside the box. Be extremely careful when cleaning they are razor sharp. The basket which collects small garbage pieces is nowhere near as it is shown in the drawing. It is max a 5”x5”. This causes it to fill up quickly and clogs de drainage causing the trap to overflow. Be prepared to empty often or just do without or as in my case make a bigger basket.

I replaced a 25 year old one with this new one and it is really a game changer. The only way to clean the older one was to put a vacuum in it and this one has a lid and a basket! I'm happy.

have been unable to install.....need directions.... second comment 11/18/2017 need to return still unable to install under our sinks... if installed could not remove basket...need help12/11/17 UPDATE WE NOW HAVE OUR GREASE TRAP INSTALLED...THANKS TO MANY EMAILS AND READING COMMENTS FROM OTHERS....WE FINALLY UNDERSTOOD HOW TO INSTALL.. THE FEXIBLE HOSE WAS A GREAT HELP AND THE IDEA WE FOUND ABOUT USING A SINK DRAIN INSTALLED UP SIDE DOWN ..HELPED BRING IT ALL TOGETHER...THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELPEVEYTHING WORKS NOW AND NO LEAKS....HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH......BETTY JONES

I ordered the wrong one at 1st and had to return it with no problems. Reordered the one l needed and just received it really quick. The only thing l had a problem with is theres no directions or any paperwork at all you have to look online.

I'm a journeyman plumber and found this item to be as represented. Decent quality, but no CSA or UL stickers, but hey, it's a grease trap, it's not going to blow up and kill someone.

Item arrived not packed well at all, parts all over the place and very little instructions. Quality of material is cheap and the inside is rusted. Poor quality, I figured it was too good to be true. You really do get what you pay for
