It ticks the right specs, is appropriate for high mileage, and offers good features for the price. If, however, your car is newer, low mileage, or has a manufacturer requirement for full synthetic, then I’d lean toward going directly to a full synthetic oil instead.

Very good oil, and very good brand for all your automotive needs

I’ve been using Castrol High Mileage oil in my 2011 Honda Civic for years, and it’s made a noticeable difference. The engine runs smoother, idle is quieter, and I’ve noticed less oil consumption over long drives. This is my usual motor oil for my car (2003 Mercury Grand Marquis). In the time I have had this carI have used Castrol predominantly. Every time I change it it's come out clean, so I feel that it's good quality. My car has 190,000 miles on the odometer and counting, & it runs like a sewing machine.
