The Simple Life: How I Found Home: The unmissable Sunday Times bestselling memoir

Very enjoyable
I pre-ordered this book and it was delivered a little earlier than I was expecting which is always good. I have watched Sarah since her tv career started and watched her as she moved through life with her husband and children and seen what they've done to renovate or build a new home for themselves. They're a lovely family who are never short of ideas and imagination and come across as very approachable with a twinkle of mischief and fun in the eyes. Sarah's diagnosis and treatment for cancer is included in this book. Some bits I read, some I skipped, just because I had nursed my husband through cancer, we lost him in a few short months 19 years ago aged 54, I struggle with that every day and I have have and have had friends with cancer. I found I skimmed over some details but Sarah does forewarn the reader to give them the option to read or not to read that section of her life story.

An interesting read
I enjoyed Sarah's depiction of her childhood, sharing happy memories as well as her boundless enthusiasm to tackle new projects. Clearly knowledgeable about restoration and techniques in the industry, sometimes I felt that side had more explanation than necessary. Perfect for budding renovators however. Hence the 4 stars. A good book overall and worth reading.

An enjoyable read
I can identify with some of the reasons the Sarah has lived such a full life . My mother died at 38 when I was 16 and I can understand the reasons for Sarah living life to the full because we know it can all end in an instant. I too had breast cancer but have survived and had 16 wonderful years since diagnosed and been so well. That’s what I wish for Sarah. May she enjoy slowing down and taking a bit more time to savour the next chapters of what life holds.A wonderful read!

I've always enjoyed Sarah Beeny on her tv programs but now I LOVE her!!! A charming insight to her varied and very interesting life with out being pretentiousness but incredibly honest. The love within this family is so beautiful and inspiring. I could easily recommend The Simple Life and indeed I think I will read it againUtterly charming
