Davis & Sanford PROVISTA6510 Provista65 Tripod with V10 Head for Cameras,Black

This video tripod, the Davis Y Sanford Provista 6510, is not a professional tripod, they go for $500+. It is, however, a nice hobby tripod.Lots of plastic, but almost everything works as it should, the leveling bowl is a bit rough. You have to realize that I paid less for this whole thing than I could have gotten the cheapest fluid head for one of my Manafrotto tripods.Amazon had this on sale for $92, so I grabbed it. The usual cheapest price is $110. I was disappointed to find that it was an open box item. Amazon did not mention that in their listing.Came with a case and shoulder pad for that, but no extra camera mount plate. That extra plate is a relict or film days when they often swapped cameras to keep shooting while an assistant reloaded the exposed film in the first one. Not much needed in this digital era. I do not know that there was supposed to be a second mount plate with this tripod but it is usual with this type of tripod.At 65 inches, this tripod is taller than most of the similar priced direct from China video tripods. I actually have to stand on tiptoe to look into the viewfinder of my Sony DSR-PDX10 (Yes, a old camera, but all I could afford) at full extension.While I doubt that this would stand up to 10/6 shooting by a pro, I think it will be fine for my weekend hobbyist use. It does have a 10 year warranty.

This tripod is very sturdy and has a professional appearance. It also has extremely smooth movement when tilting and panning. Overall excellent tripod considering the price.D

Davis & Stafford is the standard in pro video stands. This one is suitable for small or large cameras and light weight and portable enough to use in any situation. Multiple adjustments are available, quick mount snaps into place and it features an liquid level. For $100, its best buy. I bought 2.

I would have liked this but the quick release plate 1/4" 20 screw is really cheap and snapped in half when I threw a really light slider and canon t5i on it.

be careful of the panning arm fastening knob, my got worn out on the first use, waste of my money,it was too costly to send back so im now stuck with it

I'm not very pleased with this tripod. My company now has three of them that are all kind of jacked up in some way. For the price it has lots of nice features like the bowl design, bubble level, and solid locking plate. However the low quality materials just means it will eventually fail on you. The worst offender is the mid level spreader, which is thin aluminum with plastic attachment points. I have 2 tripods that failed this way. I'm waiting to see if the warranty will cover this. The aluminum legs also can get bent rather easily. Lastly, the extension locks aren't very stiff and the tripod will slowly collapse if you lean into it or put a heavy rig on top. If you don't abuse it or use it often, you will probably be ok but you will still have to deal with the lackluster fluid head, which is pretty much as basic as it gets. The adjustment knobs are nothing but drag screws that are finicky and not linear with adjustment, so fine tuning the pan/tilt is pretty much a no go. This makes panning especially difficult because it has no fluid drag like tilt.

Good value tripod - only criticism is that the bag lining is not strong enough and it tears inside.

Venía sin caja de cartón y el código de barra pegado en la funda de transporte. Zócalo un poco dañado. Movimientos no tan fluidos como yo esperaba. Por el resto parecía bastante sólido.
