Camera Case for Nikon D850 - Silicone Protective DSLR Skin Cover, Detachable Cage, Shockproof, Dustproof (Black)

I accidentally ordered the wrong model, for a d750 rather than a d850. STSEETOP Customer Service was prompt, EXCELLENT and more than accommodating in setting me up with the correct model—it's unusual to see a company that dedicated to its customers these days.When the correct model arrived (extremely well packaged), it fit the d850 body perfectly. It improves grip and gives you good protection against accidental scratches and knocks. I use my d850 on boats, so the extra physical protection is definitely appreciated.Two aspects you need to be aware of if you purchase this which have NOTHING to do with the quality of this product:1) Once installed, an MDB18 grip will no longer attach because of the thickness of the silicon interferes. I am considering cutting some of the silicon away to allow the attachment - it would be a shame to mar the aesthetic of the case but hopefully I can do that relatively cleanly. Perhaps STSEETOP can consider creating a mould that could accommodate this common accessory in the future?2) The silica covers for the many and various buttons of the d850 are well located and even have writing embossed on them so you know which button is which. However, good luck on reading the writing in anything but the brightest conditions and decent eyesight—so, you need to know your d850 well and know exactly what each of the buttons do before you cover up their labels with this case. Specific to the black case (and perhaps other color options?), the case of course also renders useless the fact that these buttons can light up for night photographers, since the silica is opaque on the black model. I suppose you could cut each button out but again why would you want to impact the integrity of the case? Moral of the story? LEARN the location of those buttons like you would a QWERTY keyboard before you cover them up!

Easy installation, perfect fit for the d850. The grip is better in this brand than other cheaper ones. For everyday use the textured finish gives that better grip. I would only consider the other cheaper ones if you are going to use your camera for dusty environments where the plain finish would probably be easier to clean. That doesn't mean this one doesn't protect the camera, it's actually made of a thicker material than the other brands and will be more impact resistant. All the buttons are clearly marked except for the two memory card format buttons you just have to remember the other function. I like the fact that the bottom is mostly clear and open enough for the large tripod mounts. Overall it's probably the best investment you can do to protect your camera. I installed a silicone skin on my previous model d600 and it's still looking like new after over 21000 pictures.

The only thing I didn’t like about it is I can’t use it with a battery grip.

It was fairly easy to put on my camera Nikon D850. I like to go to the beach so it helps keep sand out, plus doing dog pictures, they tend to be curious about the camera and can knock it out of my hands, but this case helps me keep a good hold on it and no damage when dogs get crazy playful. Wish I'd bought it sooner and avoided a few dog teeth marks on my camera. Worth the buy!

No cut outs for the buttons on the left, thus eliminating their light-up feature. And, of course, this cover gets in the way of the battery grip and needs to be 'customized' to fit.

I put it on and did my best to pull and tug it into place. Many of the buttons are covered and directions say you should cut the material as required to allow those buttons through. Some of the openings were gaping. All in all, very cheap looking cover. Upon reflection, I decided that I didn’t want my Nikon 850 to be in makeshift clothing so I removed it and don’t plan to use it.

Fresh out of the package and I immediately see a tear. Not impressed. Makes me doubt the products intended use.
