Colorful, easy to read and understand and chock full of delicious recipes, I recommend this book to anyone wanting to explore the world of dehydrated foods!

Disappointing content
Very little material on the how - instead you are deferred to your dehydrator manual which is often lacking.Everything he says on the subject can be found with a simple Google search "dehydrator jerky".In spite of jerky featuring prominent in the title there's only about 30 pages on the subject mostly recipes.Then many of his recipes don't really resemble jerky in that he bakes the preparation in the oven then pats dry and dehydrates. The duh parts comes when you realize you could just do it all in the oven by taking the baked meat out, turn oven down to 160F and placing the baked meat on a wire rack on a cookie sheet to dehydrate. He never says that however - he refers to the dehydrator.Then we have the hot sauces. Spicy yes, dehydrator no. So why are they here? Nothing you can't find on any number of sites making hot sauces. I personally don't know if I'll remember that there are hot sauce recipes in a spicy dehydrator book. Then we have other non sequitur chapters like soups and risottos! Seriously here's an example of a total non-sequitur to the books title "Spicy Dehydrator Cookbook" - Mexican style couscous. It uses dried vegetables in the ingredients without telling you how to make them.I suggest saving your money for a book that educates you on how to effectively use your dehydrator with recipes tossed in instead of a generic cookbook with jerky thrown in as an oddity.

Spicy or hot, you'll crave these dishes
Love Mike's recipes, books and ideas. I made Spiced Cauliflower Popcorn yesterday. WOW. what a great snack and salad topping. I used the recipe in the book (Pg. 143)as inspiration and for basic quantities, Used already made from his recipe for hot sauce...I called it Wicked hot Sauce. Had some left over jalapeno water from boiling the jalapenos for the creamy Jalapeno Sauce ( I make this regularly) . Smokey salt added some depth, too. Always organic ingredients. So Yummy!

Delicious and Pretty Easy !
I ran across a recipe for Cauliflower Popcorn using a dehydrator that was from this cookbook. I try to eat low carb, and finding healthy snacks is always a quest of mine. Crunchy, salty, spicy snacks that are low in carbs ... sign me up !Let's put it this way. After seeing this cookbook, I went to Amazon, bought a dehydrator and now shopping for items to make these awesome recipes ! Nice job Mike .... you Totally Rock !

Well worth the money. Made me salvitat just reading it.
A lot of yummy recipes. Not a lot of unusual ingredients to hunt down. Very simple to make. Gives you ideas on making your own.

This has expanded my ideas regarding making chili sauces and there are many more good things not about chili

Book felt used
This cookbook was a gift. It was not new- crisp. Definitely been read through. The recipient was happy, I was embarrassed.

If you like spicy food and own a dehydrator you NEED this book!
Picked up this book and at first glance I have to admit I had some reservations, however, once I tried some of the recipes my mind was blown! The Jerky recipes in this book, especially the Mongolian, the Chipolte Bourbon and the ghost pepper are absolutely insanely delcious! I made several batches and gave them to my friends, who said it was the best jerky they ever had and wanted to buy it by the pound. I am now going through the book and trying every recipe and very few of them are disappointing. For heat lovers his book is really a must have!

Freaking Awesome!
I’m a massive chilli and dehydrating fan so this book is a dream come true for me!I follow the author on Facebook and have enjoyed making some of his delicious recipes, so I’m eager to get started with the recipes in this book. I’m going to start with jerky and fruit leather.The book is very well written with wonderful colourful photos and easy to follow recipes.If you like chilli’s then you need this book!
