Anchor Hocking 6-Ounce Custard Cups with Lids, Set of 4

These are sturdy and very well-designed custard cups. They are oven and microwave safe, very versatile, and very reasonably priced. The lids, useful when using the cups to store leftovers, fit beautifully. I'm a long-time Anchor Hocking customer; their products and customer service are first-rate. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

These cups are a nice, generous size for prep dishes, for which the lids will come in handy if you want to get ingredients ready far in advance. They are also available for about a dollar less without the lids ( Anchor Hocking 6-Ounce Custard Cups, Set of 4 ), if you don't need them. They are also a nice size for a small dessert or a side dish you don't want to mingle with the other food on your dinner plate. While these cups are not meant for cooking, they can be used for reheating in the microwave (I'm posting a photo of the product insert with usage instructions); I bought them for heating things like a serving of beans in the microwave, because my old cups had scalloped edges, and the flat edge of these cups allow me to use silicon suction lid covers (such as Silicone Suction Lids and Food Covers - Set of 5 - Fits various sizes of cups, bowls, pans, or containers! ) when heating in the microwave; while these cups come with their own plastic lids, I wouldn't feel comfortable using those lids in the microwave. The cups have a sturdy, heavy feel to them and stack beautifully. They arrived packed with cupcake papers between each cup, which I thought was clever, and I've kept them for easy, safe stacking.

Perfect cat food dishes! My partner and I have 5 cats and due to various diets and eating behaviors, they can not free feed and they must eat wet food. The cats eat twice a day and in order to create more simplicity in our lives, we decided to would be easier to prepare our cats meals one day in advance. These dishes were the perfect solution! They are just wide and deep enough for out cats to eat from them comfortably. They do not take up a lit of space in the refrigerator and the lids make storage super easy. Not all of the lids fit as well we'd like - a few of them are too small and always pop-off either on one side or completely. This issue is not true of all the lids. It is a minor draw-back to what is otherwise a perfect product for our needs. The glass is also thick and well crafted so the bowls themselves are very durable. They are really lovely little dishes. We are sure our cats appreciate the fine dinning!

I am pleased with these custard cups, using them for individual servings of cooked pudding. It's convenient to be able to stack them in the refrigerator for cooling and/or storage without taking up too much room. The bowls measure 4" in diameter across the top and seem sturdy. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading remarks about loose lids, but the ones on my set do fit snugly now. If they should ever need to be replaced, I found that the lid from an 8 oz container of cream cheese spread (happy farms brand) or the lid from a can of coffee will fit well; we always seem to have some of those floating around our kitchen. These glass cups are made by Anchor Hocking in the USA.

This is the second time I have purchased these and I absolutely love them. I use them primarily as prep bowls, and love the fact that they come with lids. These are especially useful when I am doing my prep well in advance of cook time, and I have an ingredient that should remain cold until time to cook it. I can store something like chopped onions in the refrigerator until I need to use them; and with the lid the onion stays fresh, and does not transfer its odor to the other items in the refrigerator. These bowls are a perfect size for prep bowls because they are small enough that I can have several on the counter at one time, without them taking up too much space, yet they are still large enough to hold something like a medium sized onion (diced). Even though I buy them primarily to use as prep bowls, these are good for other uses as well. When we eat tacos, these are great for the leftover chopped cilantro, diced onion, and diced cucumber. And apparently they are good for other things as well, since the other person in my household is always taking them to use for this or that. In fact, when I want to use them sometimes they are nowhere to be found - and this why I had to buy a second set - LOL. Another good feature is the fact they are transparent. This means I can see what is in the bowl without having to remove the lid to take a peak. For me, reviews are very helpful when shopping on Amazon, so I try to give information that will help others determine if the product is right for them. I love these little bowls. The lids fit fine, although I'm sure they aren't tippable with liquids in them. The lids do not fall off. I can't speak to them tearing after a few months, because I haven't had mine more than 1 month. They are great for food prep and as small ice cream bowls. I'm looking forward to using them for custard and puddings. I try not to use plastic wrap for environmental reasons, so lids that cam be used multiple times work well for me. I ordered 2 sets of 4 bowls the first time and just ordered 2 more sets today. Addition added in 2020: I still love these bowls. None of the lids have split. These are great for desserts made ahead of time and stored stacked in the refrigerator. They are also great for dinner prep, getting chopping done ahead of time.

The products are really useful. They can be used for many purposes: baking, storage, making jelly, panna cotta. The lids are also the upside!

covers break and not durable

Cups appear to be of good quality and quite sturdy, however, I have my doubts about the lids. They are quite flimsy and I imagine after a few uses they will crack and split.

I have been looking for small glass dishes with lids for a very long time. Finally, I found them, imagine my delight. However, the lids are too big for the bowls and my day was ruined and I was so very disappointed.
