A delightful read!
This book is going down as one of my cozy favorites. I already can’t wait to read it again!Every scene, every sentence every tense moment played in my head like a beautiful dystopian anime.Peighton’s writing pulls you in. She makes the slow quiet moments loud with emotion. You feel Everest’s joy, anguish and excitement through small movements, like gentle falling snow.I’m eagerly awaiting the next leg of the journey, to see these characters soar on the wings Peighton worked so hard to sew. (And an anime adaptation, because my GOODNESS would this make a delightful anime.)

A book for ALL ages!
A book HAS to grab me in the first couple of sentences or I'll lose my interest - THIS book does just that. I was SO immediately wrapped up in the story - truly invested in the character and her journey - that I couldn't put it down once I started. I HAD to know what was on the next page. And there was no putting it down and going back later, I had to know NOW!The story's attention to those ever-so-important details, had me visually 'seeing' it play out in my mind - now I want the movie!I finished the book some 3 hrs or so later, knowing that every page I turned, was getting me closer to the last. And I simply was not ready for it to end.Excited to know there is a second book in the works. I NEED to know what's next!!

A beautiful story! For Young Adults and older!
Despite being out of the Young Adult age range but loving the dystopian genre, I gave Gifts From Crows a try based on a recommendation. I was NOT disappointed. It’s a beautiful story of a strong teenage girl Everest who is trying to survive in a future post-war era after her life has been devastated. The way Peighton Marsh, the author, weaves in the past and present of Everest’s life made me love the characters and I quickly became invested in the story. Fremont, the crow Everest befriends, is the cutest providing hope in a seemingly hopeless situation. I love the way Ms. Marsh provides images of the notes delivered by Fremont. They are adorable and add a touch of uniqueness to reading the story. I ended the book wanting to read the sequel that I understand is in the works. Peighton Marsh is truly talented and I cannot wait to read more from her.

A great YA novel!
This book is heartbreaking and sweet at the same time. As a reader, you love Everest quickly and wish you could take her off the pages and protect her from her plight. Ms. Marsh doesn't throw all of Everest's problems at you at once but slowly spoon feeds you snippets of Everest's background throughout her story. At the end, I was left with tears for Everest. A must read and can't wait to see what Ms. Marsh writes next.

An amazing adventure
Dystopian future. Something a lot of books try to do. This one, definitely one of the bests to ever be a whole book about it. Reading this will get you hooked and make you want to read it straight through. 10/10 recommend.

This book kept you guessing and surprised at every turn! I loved the relationship that Fremont had with Everest. The ending, it gave me all the feels but it also made me think... What if....

Dystopian fiction that hits home!
What a beautiful little story. It’s sad and haunting and full of hope all at the same time. I read this in two sittings this evening. It’s only a short book, with only one (human!) character, but the perseverance of Everest/Nadine, paired with the dystopian backdrop, made for a perfect novella. Unlike most dystopian stories this one feels quiet and raw, not filled with action but rather loneliness and grief, a study of how a young girl survives a year alone in the wild. The ending was bittersweet and satisfying. I believe there’s a sequel to come and I really look forward to seeing what this author does next!

Beautiful, tense and inspiring.
I adored this book! Really beautifully written with a complex main character. It explores grief and guilt, as well as building a very intriguing dystopia. Can't wait for the second one already!
