D'Addario NYXL45130SL Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, Grey, Regular Light 5-String, 45-130, Super Long Scale

I shouldnt have to remortgage my home to afford bass strings and at the prices these frequently drop down to (£10!!!), I dont have to! I run these on a 34" scale bass in drop c and they tick all the boxes for me. They sound great, articulate and stay bright for a long time. Never had a dud string and they hold pitch beautifully. Now, if only I could snag NY-XLs for all my other basses without selling my first born...

These D'Addario strings are my go to bass guitar strings as they stay close to tune even after a number of days of not playing for whatever reason(s). They have colour coded ball ends which I find unnecessary but no harm's done plus my Fender Jazz Bass Bridge Cover hides them anyway. The sound from them is sublime & clear they're brilliantly made & are tough long lasting strings. You get a code for 600 points on the D'Addario Players Circle official website. For me there's no better set of bass guitar strings out there!

I used a set for two years for practice, and they still sounded ok. I used to change my roto sounds every month.

Garbage , two strings snapped on tuning. Using electric tuner so not over tightened.

I've used these strings for years. Bright, punchy, long lasting and great sustain. I like quite a modern and clean bass sound, and they certainly deliver. Only downside (and the only reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5) is that recent batches seem to taper the E string slightly further down - not a problem with "traditional" basses, but on a 35" scale instrument it'll only fit if the bridge allows you to "topload" instead of stringing through the body. Seems to be a recent thing, as I've not had the issue in the past, but I'm not sure how it'd meet the described claim to fit a 36" scale bass. Hopefully not a cost-cutting shortcut by D'Addario; that would be a real shame so to cheapen an otherwise fantastic product.

Nice balanced and bright sound. They do fit multiscale Stranberg Boden Bass...the regular long scale B string is too short, but this set is fine.

E string snapped on first tuning, all others fine.

初めて購入しました SADOWSKY METROに張っています。 古いロックに合うか‥ 本当ならフラットラウンド弦にいきたかったのですが、選曲的に全ては厳しいためこちらにしてみました。 音質的にはギラギラ感が抑えられていて、使いやすかったです。 張ってすぐな感じの音ではなく、そこそこ安定した音色だとも感じました。 ただ若干滑らかさがなく、そこが指ざわり的に気になりました。 パッケージから出した時のヨレヨレ感にもちょっと？っとなりましたが‥ 感触等は個人個人で違いますので参考程度に‥

Tra le corde in nickel migliori sul mercato, molto bilanciate come gamma sonora, più definite delle normali corde in nickel senza tuttavia perdere grossezza ma anzi guadagnando molta presenza sul range medio-alto, aiutando così il basso a bucare il mix; eccellenti con tutte le tecniche, sorprendenti in slap per definizione e capacità di bucare il mix grazie al range medio-alto di cui sopra ed all'eccellente contenuto armonico. La tensione è bassa senza mai risultare flaccida, molto piacevole, l'unico punto dolente è, purtroppo, la corda di LA di scalatura 80, che, vista la bassa tensione generale, risulta invece più flaccida delle altre corde e su bassi con radius 9.5" o addirittura inferiori sbatte in maniera eccessiva sulla tastiera: se non ci fosse questo problema che purtroppo pregiudica un po' la suonabilità generale (occorrerebbe alzare l'action rendendo così il tutto un po' più scomodo), sarebbero probabilmente le mie corde preferite, anche in virtù della loro lunghissima durata.

Sound is little metallic early on but some playing will blend all in. Nice to play, great versatile sound.
