Pocket Rocket.
I ordered this torch as a pocket alternative to an 800 Lumen LED Lenser M17R which is a very sophisticated piece of kit. This particular model in comparison is compact and easily pocketable. Its rechargeable and has various levels of light output which areselectable by pressing the recessed tail switch. It is also sturdily made being crafted out of aircraft grade aluminiumCharging is very easy.Just connect it via the supplied mini USB cable to a phone charger or a PC/Laptop and its all sorted. This torch is alsovery 'tecchie' as it can be connected up to a PC/Laptop and via their website, the relevant software can be downloaded and the parameters ie light output can all be reset and adjusted. IMHO this is the worst part of the package, clunky software which is difficult to load and does not run smoothly. Its unlikely to be needed regularly-which is just as well.In practice this torch is outstanding. It produces a 500+lumen beam which has just the right spread. I've found it particularly useful when walking back though a park at night. Lesser torches would have their beams soaked up by the foliage but this one is just right. It also stays cool when operating even for extended periods. And to think almost 25 years ago I was cartwheeling around when I bought my first Maglite MagCharger costing £120 back then (!) which was over 3 times the size, had a much weaker beam and took 18 hrs to charge.Things have certainly moved on.If I was being REALLY picky I would be moaning about the colour cast of the beam. This is like a slight sickly brown/green but in practice its not really significant. It is identical in that respect to a Fenix torch I had a couple or so years back. For the regular going rate of around £100 I would recommend this torch despite the slight foibles. For the price I paid just over £30 it is an eye-watering bargain
