I initially bought one of these for my son who builds amplifiers for his electric guitars. He has used it for many things including working on his car. I purchased one for myself and used it to fix my clothes dryer. The picture on the monitor is very clear, the light is bright, and the extension is easy to thread into small places. Very handy tool. This is a great value for your money. I bought it without a lot of expectations but have been pleasantly surprised. My neighbor was helping me with a project where I was using this and he was so impressed he went home and bought one himself. It’s easy to use and provides a good picture quality for objects close to lens. With its built in light and long cable you can see in some rich places that would otherwise be impossible.

I have always wish that I had had one of these on hand when I lost a part or to determine whether or not there were electrical wires or plumbing behind the drywall in a home. This is very very handy. I needed to verify that a residential tub had a P-trap. I was able to scope through the pipe and verify that without having to dig up concrete. Also did another plumbing job where one of the parts that was metal fell down behind the drywall. Scope also has a clip and a magnet that you can attach to the end and it allow us to locate the missing part and retrieve it with the magnet. The price is great for multiple uses.

My fiance works on pur vehicles often. He needed a camera to be able to make sure there were no metal shavings in a newly threaded spark plug. He also does HVAC work for a living. This camera helped with the spark plug and now is coming in very handy for looking in ducts etc for his job.

I might have expected too much. The biggest problem I found was the fact you can’t control the camera angle and when you are trying to capture an image any more than a few feet away it is almost impossible. The sleeve of the camera twists so no control there either,also at sixteen feet long the only option would be to just drop it in to something and hope for the best. Another problem is when you do drop it in to a dark place the light from camera is over come by the darkness and the only thing that you can see is what is right in front of the camera.So pretty much useless when you can’t control the direction or the visibility. I don’t know how or who could use this but there might be an application out there that it would work for.As for me I will invest in one I can control the camera angle and light output without 16 feet of unusable cable.
