Other reviews state the same issue. I had to use a microfibre cloth to remove them. We installed it using the single hole base plate. We noticed water dripping down into our cabinet from under the base plate so had to put some clear caulking there. Never had to do this with other Moen faucets in our home. There is no hot/cold indicator on the faucet as depicted in the listing photos. Makes me wonder if this is even a real Moen faucet or perhaps these are defective/ refurbished ones. It came in a generic looking box which is very different than the ones at home Depot. It's quite difficulty to keep it free of water spots. You gave to rub it with a microfibre cloth to remove them.
