Really wanted something motion activated. Went with these for a couple of reasons, they are magnetic strip mounted, USB Rechargeable, and have built in flashlights, so if I or the wife ever needs some extra light walking to the house, or around the truck, camping, etc., can just grab one or both. I also added a extra magnet strip on the underside of the hood, if lights needed for a roadside repair. They angle in 45 degrees, so it's more center focused within the bed then many others that are just block shaped. Looking at the specs, should last around many months or so before a charge is needed, (for my 1-2 times a day accessing the bed). The motion activation is working perfectly, they turn on just about when the tailgate is 6-8" open, and stay as long as they see me, and for 10 seconds or so after that. Have them mounted hiding behind the rear tailgate rails. For the price, surprised at the quality (aluminum). Almost wired in LED strips, but didn't want to hassle with a switch if my hands are full, and like that they are removable. We use them several places, for example, in the hallway for nightime trips to the kitchen and bathroom, at the garage entry door, they light up enough to see, but not so much that you see stars! The motion activation is incredible, the light does not stay on longer than needed, and if it goes out, the smallest movement turns it back on, they hold a charge for literally WEEKS, even tho they are in places that are CONTINUALLY walked past several times a day. They can be used in so many applications: light up truck bed under a cover, light up a cooler to see what to grab while camping, in the garage fridge that does not have a light - leave it right inside, open door, instant light! The flashlight part is handy too! They are great for lighting up dark cabinets and cubbyholes. They also are handy when you need a quick flashlight. Love these little units.The adhesive is not so great, it is the peel and stick variety on the back of a magnetic strip that the light sticks to. They wouldn't stay up long before falling in our cabinets with a laminated surface. I would stick them up after cleaning the surface and they would be laying on the bottom of the cabinet by the next morning.My solution was to use 3M command strips on the back of the magnetic strip.
