DragonScales 3-Octave Scales and Arpeggios for Viola: In Slow to Fast Rhythms, in All Keys, Includes Audio Play-Alongs

I've never seen a method book that focuses on scales and arpeggios with such a clever play-along system built into the book in the form of QR code links. Now i can practice my intonation and rhythm with the reference audios (from youtube) anywhere i go. The book is hefty though, at 246 pages. There is a PDF version available from the authors website, however. You still need a phone to scan the qr-codes in the PDF to access the audio. Overall, great product.

This is a 244-page book that should fit on a music stand. Unfortunately, it has a standard binding, rather than a spiral binding, so the book is not particularly easy to use.There is a happy ending, however. I took the book to a local printing and shipping store, and for about $10, I had a spiral binder put on the book. See the photo. Perhaps the 2nd edition of this book will come with such a binding.

This book is awesome practice for scale development and intonation, as well as for getting more comfortable in unfamiliar keys. The book has corresponding audio samples for each scale, so you can practice scales with each note playing, which is great for tempo and intonation. Additionally, this book has every scale imaginable, so it is great for positional practice. Overall this book and the corresponding audio samples are great resources for practice in general.
