There are a lot of different little balls in the filter to help filter bad stuff and adds healthy minerals and vitamin C that the skin needs to be healthy. All you have to do is hang it on your faucet, turn on the water and set it at your preferred temperature and fill the tub. Very easy to use and I have seen a difference in my hair and skin since using the filter. My skin is softer, brighter, and looks rejuvenated. My hair is softer, no longer looks like straw, less frizzy and now my brush glides easily through my hair.
