Ok, for starters, Macbooks don't really need protection per say. They are very sturdy and even some of my macbooks that are from 2009 don't show scratches or other blemishes even after all that time and use.I wanted a case for my new Macbook Air because just like the iphones they are way too smooth and I was afraid it would slip out of my hands when picking it up. Also, while this is the case for larger macbooks I don't see this case being necessary because when your talking about a 15-16" macbook it's just too bulky and heavy to try and grab with one hand. The macbook air on the other hand is almost the same size as the 12.9" ipad and thus very easy to grab with one hand, but then your left with the slip factor.So, I bought this case to provide more friction when grabbing my laptop and I would say it does provide that, but not as much as I hoped. What I wanted to find was a case more like many of the Apple branded cases that are/were available for the ipad, they use a soft-tpu plastic that have more of a rubbery feel to them. This product was described as being a "soft" case but I really don't consider this to be the case.Having said all that, I do like this case overall. It does provide enough friction that I'm not unhappy with it, just wish it was a bit more rubbery feeling. It's very sim, easy to put on/take off. It also comes with a keyboard cover and I'm unsure if I'll continue to use it, that creates a very different feel on the keyboard and I'm noticing a lot of missed keystrokes, but maybe I'll adjust to it, so the jury is still out on that.

I purchased it on March 17, 2024, and the corners are cracking and breaking. I have two covers on separate laptops; only the transparent is falling. Amazon does not have a way to contact the seller or to replace a defective product if the order is over 30 days.
