CAMO COLL Outdoor UPF 50+ Boonie Hat Summer Sun Caps

I purchased this hat to wear on our family's week-long Orlando theme park extravaganza vacation. I was VERY happy with the hat's performance for this purpose. Here's what I loved about this hat:-Extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear. I could barely tell I had a hat on. It fit comfortably, not too tightly, and when I took it off, I did not have hat hair.-Cool to wear in the Florida heat. The fabric was cool and smooth to the touch and didn't trap heat. The ventilation band helped air flow into the hat. It did not feel wet or sweaty and if I was sweating at all, I didn't notice it.-Did indeed block the sun. I was under no illusions that my sunscreen was going to cut the mustard in all that humidity and heat (though I doggedly applied it anyway). The hat kept the sun off my face and I did not get any color of any kind, no redness, no tan, no freckles, nothing.-Stayed on during every ride due to the chin strap. It was easy to operate the strap and to loosen and tighten it on the fly.-I could abuse this hat and it still looked good. There were times I needed to take it off and I could let it dangle down my back, sit on it, wad it up and shove it in my purse, whatever I wanted to do, and it snapped back every time to its original shape. It packs absolutely flat.-Washable (I did it by hand because I was doing some other stuff by hand at the same time, but I think I could have tossed it into the machine) and dries very quickly. Looks as fresh as it did the day I bought it.-VERY cheap for the number of benefits the hat provides. I want to buy it in a few more colors for next warm season. It would be good for going to a kid's ball game, Renaissance fair, etc.It is not a "pretty" hat, per se. Wearing it; you will probably not feel like Jackie Kennedy sunning herself on the White House lawn. (I didn't.) But it absolutely does the job I bought it for and I would buy it again.

Wore it on a 100 degree day in North Texas while changing the oil on the mower and then mowing the yard. Was outside for several hours and the hat did great to keep the Sun off my neck. Gusts of wind were tugging at the hat but the drawstring kept it put. Top of my head was nowhere near as sweaty as it normally is when wearing a ball cap. And the cushy head band kept the sweat from rolling into my eyes. I felt far less exhausted than a normally do after spending a day doing lawn work.

I love this hat!!! I've been wanting something to wear while gardening and this hat is perfect. It is very comfortable because it adjusts in size both around the head and the chin. The mesh top makes it breezy and cool on hot days and the liner around the inside brim keeps sweat off my forehead. It protects me from flying insects and the sun. I plan on wearing it for hiking as well but have not had a chance to get out on the trails lately. I would absolutely recommend this hat and I may buy a second for variety. I have washed it once on the delicate cycle and let it air dry. It came out perfectly and there was no damage or wear on the hat. Buy one and I think you will be happy! :)

My husband and I are kayakers and we both were in need of a hat that would not only cover our heads but also tie securely under the chin, provide shade on our faces, and allow our heads to remain cool. We finally got to try out our hats a few days ago. And they are perfect. I especially like my orange hat as it matches my life jacket.

So i wanted a hat for my large headed toddler to keep the sun off his see through white skin. I didn't want a baseball cap, i didn't want one with a stupid navy and red whale pattern.... just a hat. Finally i found this for petite women's heads. More I wanted to spend on a hat for my toddler... but I get what I want outta it, so worth it.I love it, he loves it. He wears it fine, (being able to tighten it is great) then I pop it on when he can't wear it or doesn't need it. Perfect. Will by more. Washed in washing machine and survived.

Great product for both hot and cold weather which I required for a Peru trip. Fit well over my beanie to shade the sun. Easy to pack though it got a little squished on the brim from folding to pack. Chin strap was very helpful and held well in the wind. Used for 10 day trip (everyday) and then donated in Peru along with other gear to pack lighter on the way home.

The GOOD—lightweight, packs flat, Amazon description claims UPF 50, good ventilation, one size does seem to fit all (or at least most), lots of colors to choose from, chin strap with easy adjustment, head band adjustment, and the fantastic price. The NOT QUITE AS GOOD—no UPF certification on the actual hat itself, the ventilation might allow some sun on a bald head (if this is you I’d suggest sunscreen as a backup), and brim tends to fold up or down in moderate ocean breezes. BOTTOM LINE—A decent hat that offers sun protection at prices so low you could have a different color for each day of the week. Is it as good as my tried and true Tilley that has floated in three oceans and numerous bays, rivers, streams and protecting my dome from blistering sun and pouring rain? No. But, Camo Coll does a good job at a tiny fraction of the cost. Great for yard work or for situations where a lost hat is a distinct possibility.

Thank you, hat. You protected my head and shoulders with your drab, green color and wide brim. You went deep-sea fishing with me and when the wind kicked up, you tipped back. I just knew you were going to end up on the bottom of the ocean, but no, your chin strap gently grabbed my chin. You saved yourself, and saved me at the same time.On the beach in Miami, again, the sun was no match for your breathable material. You kept my head as dry as possible under the conditions, and again, stayed firmly attached to my head. When you were dunked into the ocean, you dried quickly.And today, back home from vacation. You are settling back down to your normal duty of sun protection while yard mowing. Your future is much less exciting than your first few weeks, but thanks for protecting me from the sun.You did a great job!Kudos.
