This chain is not long enough to wrap around a gate that closes onto a large wood post (8" round post), unless your gate closes very tightly to the post. A little more length would make it more useful. Still, I am giving it a positive review because it seems to be good quality, and good for most other applications. It seems sturdy even though it is very lightweight, and it feels clean and smooth on the hands. We will see how it lasts in the wet season.

If you have a pool or a place kids should not go, this is for you. You receive two chains that have what they call lobster claw clasps. They are not easy to open, if you were a child, They are long enough to go around most gates twice with the clasp on each end. I have the boys all summer and was very worried about the pool. These are such a great quality chains that I am not so worried. Of course you still need to viligant but if I need to go upstairs or am in another room these will slow any progress to open the gates. I tried and you literally can not move the gates. Love this product.

These chains work exactly like I expected them to. They shipped and arrived quickly and came in perfect condition. The chains are easy to use and long enough to adjust to close pretty much any gate. I’ve been using these chains to help reinforce my locked dog gate. They have done the job perfectly.

I'm using these with padlocks to secure a box for delivered packages, and they work just fine. The links are welded shut; a determined thief could break them with a bolt cutter, but they prevent grab-and-run. Would have been happier if they'd been about 6 inches longer, but these are okay.

These will work great for a few of our horse gates but may be too light for keeping our big cows in. I have used rope and chain (chain is best), snaps and carabiner and prefer carabiner as the snaps rust easily and lock shut. I have been using bailing twin temporarily to keep a gate closed in one of our horse pens keeping him from going out on the lush green grass until I could get it replaced. This will be perfect and will be much easier to open and close while providing a lot more strength.It would be great if the carabiner was a little bigger but for this price it is a great deal. Chain is high quality and nicely made.

The chains are lightweight and the latch is quite small for use with horses or gates making it difficult to latch or unlatch .Otherwise if the chain was of a higher quality of metal with a latch of twice the size it could possibly work .

These chains are well made and very versatile. Of course, you can use them to chain a gate shut. You can use them to attach water buckets to the stall. We are going to use the chains to attach slow hay feeders to our round pen.The caribiner is easy to hook into with a spring type open and shut. The stainless steel should hold up to Texas heat and humidity without rusting or corrosion. These are not heavy duty chains, they are medium duty. To me, that means they aren't designed for great stress or pressure. For most purposes, these will do great.

Very sturdy easy easy to use. They are just the right length to attach two metal gates together. They’ve been in for almost a month. No rust.
