So far I've had no problem using this. I'm able to charge my phone while using it as a poor-man's DAC to play music through my old stereo system. The connection is stable and I haven't heard any popping, hiss, etc. I know this isn't an audiophile device, but neither is a smartphone. This sure beats the hell out of Bluetooth though, and you can still charge your phone. I've been thinking of using an old phone as a dedicated media storage device until I get an actual dedicated one.The design is very durable and the components are housed in metal housings. Magnets are built into them which holds the two ends together, which is more handy than I originally thought. Old stereo systems can become a mess of wires pretty quickly and when you include a 2.5mm to 1/4" adapter to connect the old stereo-in plug to the amp it's a lot. This little device is perfect for my needs. I haven't noticed any heating issues but I have a dedicated amp. I'm using this as an adapter and I don't know how it would perform if you tried to power speakers directly.I think the value is great and the shipping was fast enough that I didn't move on to another project for a few weeks. It's a great buy and already paid for itself. I'm using VLC on my phone (free) to play my mp3 files, but you can use whatever you like if you don't care about owning music.

Recently changed to a newer phone that uses USB-C, so I had to replace my old lightning splitter from a different company.I've used it for a few days, and it has been working just fine. The audio quality is good, it plugs in snugly, and keeps the charge in my phone topped off while using maps and listening to music or audiobooks. It's also nice that since USB-C is being used by almost everything, it works for any of my passengers on a road trip if we're listening to their stuff instead.My cranky old pickup truck doesn't have a fancy infotainment system, but this lets me listen using my aux cable, keeps my phone going, and honestly that's all I need.It doesn't feel cheaply made...the connections are solid, and I feel that I got my money's worth out of it.

Better than most. Great dual jack for charging and listening to hardwired headphones. I purchased for the dual. I still prefer hardwired headphones when I’m just focusing on the music and want to hear every detail. Hardwired still produces better sound quality for those that value that level of audio detail. Noise levels are great, no discernible problems or glitches that you can get with cheaper versions. Charging speed is very good as well.

The adapter in concept is very nice. It feels well built, has a convenient magnet, but I believe I received a faulty one. Listening to audio just by itself sounds clear. However, when charging, it periodically disconnects and reconnects every 3 or 4 seconds, which means it also keeps pausing my music. I plugged my phone into my charging cord with no issue, and tested to make sure my phone port was clean to rule out issues from my other devices. I’ve used different cords and other phones on the dongle, and the charging cable side keeps connecting and disconnecting intermittently regardless of device and whether it is plugged into an aux cord or not. This is so disappointing.

(EDIT: One star added because I have used this in my PC and ran my checks and it actually does support 32-bit/384kHz as advertised. That's great! They actually are using a good DAC chip inside this product. It's just unfortunate that it has perpetual charging issues. The whole reason I chose this one was the Prime Day sale + the charging ability. This is the 5th or 6th thing I've purchased on here in the last month that has something wrong with it. But that's another story. I do like the SOUND QUALITY for the price on this product, so yes, I can recommend it for that. But I'd look elsewhere for one with the same DAC chip that doesn't have these charging issues.)This improved the sound in my car by a HUGE amount. I was using Amazon Music Unlimited and now use Tidal for my music streaming. Both are great, I just wanted to try Tidal out. Anyways, I have, for years, used Bluetooth to play audio in my cars. Don't get me wrong, It's extremely convenient to use Bluetooth. That said, this is now just as convenient because I typically plug my charger into my phone while driving, as I'm usually using Google Maps and a music streaming service. Well, I could not believe my ears when I went out and tested this in the car, today. Car has a decent sound system, including a factory subwoofer. I used to think it sounded pretty good.Now? Well, max volume on the car goes up to the number "40". Using this product, I get the same volume at 25-28 as I did before at 40. It can actually play "too loud" now if I want it to.MORE importantly, the sound quality? Now, it should be noted that the description claims it supports 32bit/384kHz but this is false. The chip it uses ACTUALLY does not support over 24-bit/48(or 98)kHz. I don't know how they get away with false advertising. I know we get what we pay for, but it's simply not true. OR it's worded in such a way that it wants people to think that it can playthrough at that quality setting. This is what I found out by looking up the DAC chip and what it supports.HOWEVER, I will double check this by taking it out of my car tomorrow, plugging it into my PC and seeing what the highest setting it can ACTUALLY support and play through.Nonetheless, don't get me wrong, 24-bit/48kHz is more than enough for great quality sounding music for the kind of speaker systems I have.Now, onto the reason I give it three stars. I have an S22+. It supports Super Fast Charging 2.0. I have a charger that supports ALL the charging specs. When I use this car charger with the same charging cable I'm using now, I can see under my battery stats that I am charging at "Super Fast Charging 2.0". FYI: SFC 2.0 = 45 watt charging. SFC or SFC 1.0 is 25 watt.When my phone is trying to play music AND charge, I get random cut outs from the charging which also stops the music from playing. Mind you, my phone mount is mounted onto an air conditioning vent in the car, so nothing is overheating. And the charging will jump around from "Super Fast Charging" to "Fast Charging" (which technically supports 18-60 watts, but I'll need to use my cable with the wattage monitoring to see what it's doing, and then fall down to USB charging. And it will cut in and out 3, 4, 5+ times within 10 seconds without me touching the phone. It's seemingly random. I wasn't even driving, I was sitting in the car, cables neatly placed so as to not be pulling on anything or be in any bind, and it was doing this.I read this in some other reviews and SHOULD have just looked else where. I can't recommend it. It sounds great. I am using a pretty high quality aux cable (and I even tested it against a super cheap aux cable I have) and the cable seems to make a difference in sound quality. But, yeah, it really did bring my sound system to another level compared to when I was using Bluetooth.However, it has something wrong with the charging. And my charger that I'm using is great. I've never had any issues with this car charger and it 45W PPS and 25W PD charging along with specific support for Samsung's Super Fast Charing 2.0 (and the charger, alone, works perfectly fine with my phone).But this USB-C to Aux + charging port product does, indeed, have something wrong with it being able to play music and just simply continuously charge. I was shocked seeing it keep cutting in and out and jumping down to "USB charging."

The sound from this DAC is a little warm for my taste. It's not as clear as the Google adapter that I had previously, but it still sounds good. However, the signal-to-noise ratio is fantastic. It's the quietest mobile phone DAC that I've ever used. With my sensitive earbuds, there is a very faint, although still audible, soft hiss. As a result, I can listen to music quietly and still have it sound really good - even while charging. If you're looking for an option that minimizes hiss, I think this is a very good choice.
