AquaIllumination AI Prime 16 Freshwater Planted Aquarium LED Light - Superior Plant Growth, App Control, Low Energy Efficient - Black

While I’ll admit I do love my Kessils on the reef tank I tried their Tuna Sun series for my 240g planted tank but I didn’t like the color spectrum even with their 1990’s controller. The app and color adjustability of the Primes are absolutely perfect for mid-high light set ups. The only downside is the adjustable mounts as they are definitely not designed well. Edited, while I still love the look of these lights there is a visual difference between two lights. I tried everything that Aquaillumination recommended having to exchange. I will edit again if the new lights match when paired.

This light is all that and more. Though I have not had it long enough to know if this light is good for my planted freshwater tank. Gives multiple options for color options. Adjustable brightness and the price point is on target. Absolutely love!! I am using on my 20 gallon tank. I do wish it came with a mounted arm. This light sits on my glass cover.

While setting up for my macroalgae tank which I've heard this light is highly recommended. The firmwall wouldn't update and would fail. I got in contact with the manufacture and they wanted me to return it to them to see what is going on. While researching this issues I have found that this is common with other customers which is discouraging. However, I'm going to wait for the manufacturer to send me a new one and I'll update this review.

These are great products, provided what I needed.

I remember switching from a $50 light to the Chihiros vivid mini on one of my tanks and being absolutely blown away by the difference. Was expecting the same when I switched from a cheap Lomine pendant to this AI prime. Was not the case. It has more adjustability than the Lomine, but it’s not any brighter. It’s nothing special at all. Also, the app didn’t work, I had to contact customer service. Save your money.

Company has horrible quality control. First adjustable stand broke during assembly and second tank mount stand did not come with all the pieces. To expensive to have these issues

This AI Prime light is very nice, very well built, and very expensive. If you like whizz bang tech features and don't care about price, this is the light for you. App control, adjustability to infinity, and a very sleek look. But no mount so a separate, expensive mount is needed, or some creativity. I can't believe a light that has this many features and comes at this price, with competition at 50% the cost, doesn't come with a mount. Anyway, I have no doubt that plants will thrive under this light but figuring out where to set the lighting is a bit overwhelming, especially for freshwater plants that don't need crazy color spectrum and PAR.

I bought this set for one of my nano tanks, and I have to say the color, the settings, and the quality are all great. The app is easy to work with and allows you to easily modify the light setting/schedule. However, I do think this should have come with a mount and the price needs to be lower to make it more competitive with other brands (hygger, aquasky, chihiros).
