Good Way To Put an Old Monitor to Use
The PANPEO HDMI to VGA Adapter does exactly what it is designed to do - give you a way to continue using an older monitor or TV with a VGA connection with your newer HDMI equipped computer. There are still plenty of VGA-only monitors out there that have great display panels, a lot of life left in them, and are perfect as a second monitor for your notebook or desktop computer. Connecting those VGA monitors to a newer computer that only has HDMI connections is a bit of a challenge. The PANPEO HDMI to VGA Adapter solves that challenge.I was able to use my MacBook Pro, Windows 10 PC, and Linux PC with HDMI ports to my VGA-only monitor using this adapter. The only caveat was the need to attach an auxiliary power source to the adapter's microUSB port using the supplied microUSB-to-USB-A cable. Without the auxiliary power source the screen on the computer and the VGA monitor would flash continuously. In this case, will need to provide your own 5V power supply that has sufficient power to drive the PANPEO HDMI to VGA Adapter. I found that I could not simply plug the USB-A side of the supplied auxiliary power cable into a nearby USB-A port on my computer. Older computers do not always have USB-A ports that can increase the power beyond the standard levels specified in the USB-A specification, which is 5 watts. When I attempted to source extra power to the PANPEO HDMI to VGA Adapter using the computer's standard USB-A port the computer's built-in display would still flash and the computer popped up a warning saying that excessive power was being drawn on the USB-A port and the operating system shut down the USB port. Some newer computers have special USB-A ports to resolve this power limitation. But some computers also may not warn you of the excessive power drain on the USB port and the PANPEO HDMI to VGA Adapter will simply not work and provide no reason why.If you encounter screen flashing or if the adapter does not seem to be working, try attaching a higher power power supply, one that provides at least 10 watts of power, to the adapter. Power sources that provide higher power are typically used with tablet computers like iPads and for battery charging. Look for one that has a USB-A power outlet and is specified for 10, 12, or 20 watts. All in all, the PANPEO HDMI to VGA Adapter does exactly what it says it will do. I tried it on three (3) different computers and three (3) different operating systems including macOS, Windows, and Linux. None of them required the installation of special software video drivers. They all worked in a plug-and-play manner. Just keep in mind that you may need to provide an auxiliary power source in cases where your computer is not supplying enough power on its HDMI port. This power situation is clearly noted in the PANPEO HDMI to VGA Adapter user manual.

Came Quickly & Worked Well!
My cord went out on my screen for my work-from-home set-up, and I had to get a replacement quickly, This came in very little time, and it worked great. I was able to just plug in and go with very little turn around time. I was very pleased with the quality of the cord, the image was clear, and there were no technical issues or visible quality issues with any of the components. This was exactly what I needed to get me back up and running! I would definitely recommend this product for others!

Can't say to much about this product
I got this product to connect some VGA serves to a HDMI monitor. I thought it would work both directions, but it does not.The device only takes an HDMI output and converts it into VGA. I am not sure why anyone would need to convert from HDMI to VGA, and not the other way around.Again beware, this only works from HDMI to VGA, don't be like myself and think that it will work both ways because it will not.

HDMI to VGA Adapter
A really hand little converter that lets you use modern HDMI devices on an old VGA monitor. It requires a separate cable for power and another for sound so make sure you have a 3.5mm jack on the target VGA device to receive the sound and a 5v power adapter as well. It does exactly what it says it does and does it fairly well. After you get all the cables plugged in correctly it just works. The picture quality is up to 1080p and I don't notice any artifacts or sound problems when using it. I got it to use my "classic gaming pc" on an old CRT monitor and it works very well for that. Beware that in the photos for the item it shows the adapter connected with no power or sound. This has to be an oversight because it won't work without the power and you can't hear anything without the sound connected. Still it works well and seems to be of good quality so I can still recommend it.
