OTTERBOX COMMUTER SERIES for HTC One M8 - Retail Packaging - Black

I bought this case based on previous experience with Otterbox cases, meaning they have saved my hind end plenty of times. The colors match to the photos, and this case on the Gunmetal Gray HTC One M8 looks fantastic. When I ordered this case I saw the reviews saying that the case doesn't fit right, but after some monkeying around with it I see what they were talking about. All that it is is the flap which covers the charging port and the auxiliary port needs to be pulled out from underneath the hard plastic cover, and everything falls into place like it should.This case is durable and still provides full functionality of the device. One question that I had before I bought it was about the IR Blaster function, and I am happy to report that the power button on the top of the device is left exposed with a beveled edge to allow full functionality of the IR Blaster. The edges of the case around the screen provide protection when placed face down, but still leaves plenty of room for all of the screen functions. Fantastic product, would recommend/buy again.

Recently, I repaired my old HTC One M8 and gave it to my kid. Obviously, a bare HTC One M8 is basically a bar of soap and I didn't want the device broken and in need a repair again. Having worked in cellphone sales and repair, I remembered Otterbox and how expensive, but durable the cases used to be, so finding this case in the perfect color (for the kid) at $5 was really amazing.It includes those old school plastic screen protectors (installed it because why not) and has a flap at the bottom of the case to cover the USB port that's probably going to wear out, get super flappy and fall off, but that's okay. This thing will definitely keep the phone in one piece for another decade.I'm happy paying $5 and my kid is happy to have a phone with a teal case.

recieved- 29 November 2015I had a difficult time whether to choose from the Commuter series and the Defender series, but I decided to go with the Commuter/black due to the reviews of Defender being too bulky.pro: comes with complimentary screen protector, fits perfectly snug onto phone, simple installation, rubber bumper gives user a more confident grip on the phone, button cutouts align perfectly, does not completely block the IR laser function, goes perfectly with my tempered glass screen protector, color is as shown, dust resistantcon: back cover makes your hands feel clammy, a tad bit bulky, does not appeal to my Fm radio transmitter (case is blocking jack from going in all the way lol)Otherwise this case serves its purpose. I am one to drop my phone way too much but it suits my needs. For all the ignorant reviewers saying it doesn't fit, it fits. They do not know how to put the case on correctly. The charging port/earphone jack cover needs to be fully pulled/pushed out so that it's flush with the case (ledge to ledge).additional info:if you want the case to last, take it off your phone and clean it here and there (1-2 times every 2-3 weeks up to you).clean your phone before putting case on as well. I will update this review sooner or later.

**EDIT**After reading all the reviews about the bottom corners not fitting I still decided to give it a shot...1)people it's not hard..put the case on the bottom first then pull up on the port cover and it snaps right into place! so stop saying they sent the wrong case..2) the case is awesome and protects the phone the way it should and looks great doing it 3) the seller was AWESOME! I orders on the 1st and had my case by the 6th!!..definitely give the Commuter a shot if you need a great case with less bulk than the Defender.. It's awesome!...Also for those wondering about or complaining about the lack of power button cover..its done for two reasons.. 1) it keeps the phone from turning on in your pocket/purse and 2) it gives away to find the power button without having to look at it

Love my phone case! I got the purple with grey case and I have to say I was a little nervous with the review that said it wasent fitting properly on the phone, it fit perfectly on mine, has a good grip on hands and feels very durable, I would recommend also the glass screen protector from Icarez fells great too , but on this otter box I rate it a 5 just because of the price and quality of it, definitely would recommend it 😊

Love this case. It's smaller than the defender case but just as efficient regarding protection (I just dropped it on concrete and not a scratch, I purchased the glacier one) and I purchased the tempered glass screen protector as well being that this case doesn't have the built in screen protector like the defender case. I prefer the tempered glass because it lasts longer....the more the plastic on the defender case was used the harder it was for the screen to read my swipes. Not to put the defender case down, it really did a great job for over a year.

It's an excellent phone - probably the best in it's class when it came out. The only two things that I find fault with are the height and battery life. The first issue, height, is just a hair too tall for my hands. I don't have small hands and I find myself having to re-grip the phone to touch the top button (come on, why not on the side HTC?). The second is battery life. I don't know any Android device that really does that well. Android is still rough around the edges. My device eats up about 1% of battery life every hour while on stand-by. In extreme power saving mode, it's about .5% (so, half as much drain). I'm a very heavy user so I find myself needing a little charge at about 5-6 most days.
