Trial and error needed, they are slap bracelets so they smack!
Hello friends, I selected this set of four magic bun makers in black for bun making. This comes with a set of four individually wrapped hair bun makers. Each bun maker is in a nutshell two slap bracelets joined together in opposite directions with ends of ribbon glued to them. They have a dark ultra thin thread that is wound around them. In order to use them you have to have straight hair or lightly wavy hair. They will be a challenge for curly hair. They are also a challenge for anyone who has layers in their hair. It wants you to have your hair straight and spread out. This is hard to do if your hair is really long. You may need a friend to help. My hair is medium length and it was very difficult to do it according to the directions starting at the bottom of the length of your hair. Doing it at the bottom of the hair causes the bun to appear at the bottom of your head which may or may not be desired. I figured out a way to get it up on top of my head. I brushed my hair with my head down and then pulled it together onto my hand as if I was about to make a ponytail. I then very carefully place the ends of my hair between the two slap bracelets and smash them together, then rolled my hair up until it hit the base of my head. Then very carefully I released the slap bracelets. You need to be really careful with them because boy do they smack hard. I then pulled my hair around to the edges that were exposed and it created a perfect ballerina bun. I can see how with some trial and error and experience this can make a really fast bun on your head. I do have a few hairs that are pulling on my head but the bun is not hurting my head. I like that it's not coming out of a ponytail but is loosely up there yet secure. It looks pretty nice. The instructions weren't the greatest but I figured it out. Happy hair styling.

Easy for Dance Comp Days
This makes bun-making fast and easy during dance comp days. It comes in a pack of four and since only one is needed, I guess the other three are just in case you lose one, a friend needs one, or if you and your bff want to channel Princess Leia.Would consider this an essential time-saving tool.

So many pros but still a dissapointment
These were very interesting, and I have never seen anything quite like them before. The pros are they are very well made, and there is a very handy instruction card to help you use them. So why the 3 * rating? You have to have really long, thick hair in order to use these. My hair is very fine and thin and no matter how hard I tried; they would just not stay in my hair. The piece is very (very) long, and you really need to be ambidextrous to use these. Good luck!

Not A Fan
These bun makers are basically hair-covered slap bracelets. The "hair" looks like wrapped wire and wasn't fooling anybody. Not matter how I tried to make a bun, pieces of my hair would stick out and defeat the whole "sleek" look. There's easier ways to do a bun!

Nostalgia still rocking!
Maybe it’s just millennials or people who obsessively watch as-seen-on-tv stuff but these have been around for yeaaaaaars. I had these in the 90’s/00’s. The snap bracelets in these feel way more sturdy than the previous ones though, so that’s a win! I have shoulder length hair and was still able to make a bun at the back of my head with this. If you want a bun on top of your head you likely want longer hair. It may take trial and error but it’s like riding a bike for me.. no instruction needed here. And with multiples of them you can also rock space buns! So it’s nice that this comes with multiples. You can even make an interesting S shape design if you know what you’re doing. Definitely recommend being able to see yourself in two mirrors to see the back of your head for more intricate designs but I love them! Would recommend!

Does what it should do.
I had some of these as a kid in the 90's.These are a little more durable.I have thick hair to my waist and they worked okay on it. But again, my hair is ridiculously long and thick. It held the bun and I used a band around it with a couple of bobby pins to secure it.It would probably work really well for someone with shorter and thiner hair.It does what it's supposed to do.
