These worked great. You'll need to either get this new key blank cut to match your existing key, or transfer your existing cut key onto the pivot of this new case, the pivot and metal push botton of your existing key wont fit this new case. But you can fit your key to this new pivot with a 1/16 inch drift and a hammer. You'll distroy your original key extracting the printed circuit board, but once removed it fits easily into this case. So in summary, not a job for an amateur, but if you're handy and you've got some tools this kit works great. Its a bargain.

Easy to assemble. (The old one was really difficult to get apart though.) Works like a new key fob without having to pay for reprogramming.

I needed to replace the fob for my 2012 Camaro. This product did the trick, but man, what an effort it took. The real difficulty is getting the original GM fob apart to remove the circuit board. I actually broke the included (cheapo) flathead screwdriver trying to pry it apart. I tried putting it in vice and hammering a flathead into the to "seam," all to no avail. What finally worked for me was inserting a pair of needle-nosed pliers (closed) into the gap by where the key-spring mechanism is located. I then pulled the handles of the pliers apart, which started to pry the case open. From there I was able to work a flathead screwdriver along the seam to loosen it bit by bit until it finally popped open. Once that part of the job was done, assembling the new case was relatively easy. But getting that GM fob open is not for the faint of heart.

2014 CHEVY CRUZE BUYER BEWARE! 2014 Chevy Cruze factory fob cases are ultrasonically welded shut and tamper-resistant to force dealership replacement. The 2014 year of Chevy Cruze does NOT have a seam that can be pried open with a flathead as YouTube videos show on other key fobs. This replacement fob and the original factory fob both have a spring-loaded button that releases the key. The button on the replacement fobs are NOT THE SAME!!! So these replacements DO NOT FIT the old keys! You will either have to get a new key cut to use these new fobs, or you will have to find a way to cut through the plastic housing on the old remote to remove the old button to use inside of the new fob without damaging the old button. Again, nearly impossible because the 2014 fobs are ultrasonically welded shut and tamper-resistant.

These work really great. Wasn't that hard to get the old one apart to get the chip out. Have 2 new key fobs for under $10. Had to wait awhile to get them delivered but it was worth the wait.

Don't let the video's on how to do the changing from your original to installing into the new case. It's not as easy as it looks. Taking the original apart was the most time consuming. It would be extremely nice to have instructions with the product or a video that walks you right through the process of putting original parts in the new case. Like the case itself because it looks like an original part. Wish there was a better way of putting this together but I still haven't been successful at doing so. I'm down to the original spare key fob and it has no buttons left so now I'm having to manually lock my vehicle and pretty much every time I manually unlock from outside, the alarm goes off.

My old keyfob started falling apart, but the key itself and the circuit board within we're perfectly fine, so instead of spending $140 on getting a new key cut, I decided to gut the old ones and put the guts into these shells. It worked pretty well, but I did have to modify the keying within the fob for the spring button setup as it wasn't a 1-to-1 fit. So if your planning to do the same and have a 2014 equinox, just know you may need to shave down some plastic on inside of the fob to get the key to fit right. Also, getting the original key apart wasn't the easiest. The glue they use on those fobs is ridiculously strong. So, be careful not to damage the circuit board when dismantling. Otherwise, a great purchase that saved me literally hundreds!

If your intention is to swap your key from an oem fob, then this is the one to buy. I tried 3 others and they were slightly different inside not allowing the key portion to be transferred over. Perfect!!

I had 2 fobs with missing or damaged buttons to replace for my 2012 Chevy Sonic. I did it with the help of a YouTube video. The first one was an original GM part with the Chevy logo. The case was bonded together and took at least an hour to get apart with a hacksaw and various screwdrivers. In the process I broke one of the lugs on the push button and had to punch the roll pin out of the original key and move it to the new one. It was also a struggle to wind up the spring and get it in place. The second one was an aftermarket replacement and took about 5 minutes.
