Basildon Bond Luxury Writing Pad with 40 Sheets - White, P4TO (178 x 229mm)

I used to write a lot of letters and still write a few, I used Basildon Bond in the seventies and it's nice to see that it hasn't changed in quality. I hadn't used this size before but I like it because you can write a lot on one side and not have a wad of pages to fold up because after all if you're going to write a letter best not to write on both sides of you can help it.

Good value and quality paper. It is more blue than l thought.

I wanted a writing pad that allowed me to fit plenty of script on one side of the page and until I found this pad, I wasn't sure that one could still buy such a high-quality paper writing pad in size A4.I write with a heavy black fountain pen and so it's not usually a good idea to use both sides of the page, due to bleed-through of the ink making both sides illegible and it's apparently 'not the done thing' (however pompous that makes me sound... lol).This pad is perfect. The paper is thick enough to create a lovely smooth writing surface that allows a fountain pen to glide along, uninhibited by imperfections in the grain of the paper. The size is large enough to write a decent amount on very few pages, giving the writer the opportunity to write a good long letter without having to squeeze a bulging wad of folded pages into an ill-fitting envelope, only to find that to seal it means compromising the top fold, in turn the envelope flap must be bent past the fold, creased anew and secured by taping down the tongue! What a mess said the Virgo....lol.Still, there's nothing like a handwritten letter and mine could well be the last generation to keep them alive...Basildon Bond Rule! (pardon the pun)....
