The Ice Cream Kid: Brain Freeze! (Ice Cream Kid, 1) Hardcover – June 3, 2014

I've been a fan of Todd Clark's work on Lola for years, so when I heard about this book I had to pick it up. It was such an entertaining read! I felt like I was right there with Irwin on his adventures. There are cartoon drawings throughout the book, and also humorous little additions that add an extra touch to the whole experience. I really enjoyed it!

A great read and the captions in the illustrations had me cracking up!! Todd Clark is a well established cartoonist and I was excited to find out that he had written a children's book!!! I pre-ordered my copy as soon as it was available. I knew that I would not be disappointed!

This is from my 10 year old daughter: This is the best book ever! I love the art and the writing! I've neverread a book like this! My favorite part is when, oh sorry don't want to spoil it for you.

Written more for younger reader with lots of over-the-top humor, THE ICE CREAM KID: BRAIN FREEZE! revolves around Irwin Snackcracker. Irwin is just a typical fourth-grade boy: he likes booger-picking, cafeteria pizza, and ice cream. However, his life changes when, after taking a bite of a fudgesicle, he develops super powers. As it turns out, these powers run in his family and Irwin must decide whether to join the family business (and save his city) or just live his life as an ordinary fourth-grade boy.

I am always trying to find a book my daughter will actually read . She loves humor and adventure so I figured The Ice Cream Kid might work. I read it first and found myself laughing out loud . She is now half way through it! A miracle !Irwin and his gramps are lovable as the town's heroes. I can't wait to see what is next for Irwin!It would make a fun movie!! Please write another one!!!! We want to know what powers a Popsicle will give Irwin!!

We bought this book for our son who hates reading. Our hope was he would like it enough to practice his reading over the summer with minimal pushback. He has read it twice already! This is the perfect book for young readers. My son laughed a lot throughout the book and was able to relate to the character and situations. We hope there will be another book very soon!

Was a great and funny read and I am 78 yrs old and couldn't put the book down. Purchased some to give as gifts for friends that have gGrand and Great Grandkids. Positive, they will enjoy the book.
