No difficult math to figure out that rating of the tool in addition to quick and pleasent customer service. Tool works fantastic it comes with punched 2 but I'm going through layers of extreme gorilla tape and trex tape the type you can't tear only cut no effort no need to use the included punches for what I am using it for I can't imagine anything imyou would have to use the punches for maybe thick leather. Then I lost bottom half of the 12mm die set out of my own disorganization and contacted them to set where I could order replacement to my surprise they told me they asked for my address and they were just sent me a now one and 3 days later when it arrived I open it and surprise a whole kit!! I would have just expected a company just to say they didn't sell replacement parts if they didn't have any and I couldn't have really complained about anything since it was my fault (except maybe to say they didn't sell replacement parts but it wouldn't be fair to rate the tool performance based on that) phenomexcillewsome!!

Tested all dies and grommets on doubled 2mm (so, 4mm) leather. Punches are sharp and accurate. Dies are easy to install and change. Using the tool itself is just as easy as my hand press but more portable, which is what I wanted for my classes. I may have to get a couple more. I didn't realize the tool came with so many grommets. Sweet! I believe it works just as well as my hand press. Im not sure it's not better. I don't have my handpress anchored because I don't have a permanent space for it so it sometimes flips over when I use it. My kickpress is just too much trouble and too big of a footprint. It's in storage. I think I'm in love with this tool!

I’d give it five stars but it difficult to penetrate light weight fabrics. Other than that it seems to be well made.

This plier kit is a must have if you need to install more than just a few grommets. The kit comes with plenty of grommet sets in 3 popular sizes and 3 corresponding die sets that are super easy to change out. I agree with other reviewers who commented that the hole punches are so-so, but I was able to work around this. It was a bit fiddly to work with the pliers if you need to pre-insert the grommet directly into the fabric as opposed to seating it in the upper mold but, again, I was easily able to work around this. You can see from the photos that the grommets compressed smoothly without any wrinkling.

I got this heavy duty grommet tool kit for a project adding eyelets to some canvas covers, and I’m extremely happy with it. It comes with a 1/2 inch die and 300 sets of 12mm grommets, which was more than enough for what I needed. I thought it was going to be more difficult to use, but it was super simple. The handheld pliers punch cleanly through the fabric, and setting the grommets took just a firm squeeze. They hold strong with no wiggling. I used it on leather too, and it worked just as well. Great tool for the price, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone working with fabric or leather.

Just got through using this grommet setter for the 1st time. I was impressed. Easy to use and it punched through the moderately heavy fabric without having to use the enclosed punches. And that was a real plus.

Works great on various materials on which I've used it so 5/5*.*Suggestion for product improvement* - when storing, the tool handles spring to the full open position making them harder to fit in drawer or other storage space, so an integral handle locking mechanism would be a nice touch or at least a loop or wire between handles to hold in a smaller closed position when not in use. I'm using a Velcro tie I found that works. Something attached that won't get lost would be better.

This is a perfect tool to have for putting grommets in any fabric you need.
