Had Blink cameras for a while and became increasingly frustrated with the constant loss of connection, the need to buy overpriced specialist batteries, and motion detection that often failed to pick up someone standing right in front of the camera.This camera has been outstanding and is replacing both a Blink static camera and doorbell that were, frankly, useless. The motion detection is incredibly sensitive if you want it to be, but you can also adjust exactly how much activity you want it to pick up.Even in winter, the solar panel has kept the camera fully charged while running on the highest settings for everything.Installation was also very straightforward and it comes with everything you need. You can either use an SD card for storage or pay a very reasonable subscription of around £29 per year.If you’re just starting to look into CCTV for your home, this is a great option. There are no wires to run, and it’s far cheaper than installing a traditional DVR system or sticking with the Blink alternative.The night vision is also excellent. It provides full-colour footage and works extremely well — you can clearly make out facial features both day and night.Overall, this has been a massive upgrade from Blink. It’s reliable, easy to install, flexible to set up exactly how you want it, and offers excellent image quality day and night. For the price, it’s genuinely hard to fault and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple but effective home security camera.

The camera is great. The dual lens works well when you want to keep an eye on two areas simultaneously. The tracking lens works well although on occasion has missed someone’s arrival. The solar panel is working well and has kept the camera on 100% since install. Works on 2.4 and 5GHZ internet for easy connection. Easy to install and mounting was easy due to the template provided. App is well made and easy to navigate. Product bought on prime day so great value for money. I will be looking to add Tapo cameras to the rest of the property.

Great camera and solar panel. Panel provides plenty of power to keep the camera running all night with more to spare. Fantastic video quality too. Colour or infrared at night. Love it. Get one you will love it too.

Good camera, very fussy what micro sd card is used had to try a few and reformat before it would work properly. Occasionally drops WiFi connection but overall good and easy to set to.

Absolutely brilliant cameras, easy to set up install and the picture quality is excellent. The fact you can set them up to detect either just animals, people or vehicles or all of them is very clever and ideal as we dont want alerts for animals every 5 minutes.Will be buying more soon.

This is my 3rd tapo camera and I'm impressed with the video quality.An added bonus is you don't need a subscription (although one is available if you'd prefer) as it also has an sd card slot to record locally and access the footage via the app.

Moved from a 3yr old 2C Eufy system as it was buggy. Bought one of these for the front of the house. After 2 days use (impressed) I bought one for the rear of the house. The only issue I've had was wifi signal strength at the rear as the router is in the front corner of the house and the camera placement was at the opposite corner of the house. I resolved this by purchasing a WiFi extender which has worked brilliantly. No Hub, no subscription and no more manually charging; set and forget. Just be careful with sd card compatibility. There is a list on Tapo website. Also you don't need the Endurance card unless you plan on recording 24/7. My front camera is north facing so only gets sunshine from 2pm to 7pm ish and it's staying between 93% to 100% so I happy with that. Great home security system.

Debo decir que he probado 3 marcas diferentes con sus respectivas aplicaciones, y esta camara de tapo es sin duda la mejor camara, en calidad y funciones, y la mejor app para su control. La verdad es que me he pasado meses comparando app's, yo queria una camara que me permitiera vigilar mas de una zona, y esta al rotar 360°, lo cumple, y hace que me ahorre comprar 2 camaras para 2 zonas, porque esta sola lo cubre. En calidad de imagen, he reducido la calidad a 1080, y aun asi se ve de lujo, de esta manera me trabaja con menos consumo de wifi. La distancia llega a ver todo, pero con bastante detalle hasta unos 40 metros. Por lo que se refiere a la app, hablare de las funciones gratuitas que no requieren suscripcion, tapo te permite tener hasta 32 camaras vinculadas al mismo sistema, ademas, tiene 3 tipo de alarma, una cuando detecta movimiento, otra para detectar personas, y otra si detecta manipulacion de la camara. Se pueden activar las 3 simultaniamente y graduar la sensibilidad segun la zona, para evitar saltos. Cuando se activa, te envia una notificacion la app. Tambien tiene diferentes niveles de grabacion, yo queria una app que me permitiera grabar 24/7, de esta manera, tengo un mejor control de todo lo que pasa. Con una tarjeta SD (no incluida) se guarda todo, llevo una semana y la capacidad ni se me ha movido, no ocupa casi nada. Tiene varias funciones mas, como marcar zonas de privacidad, si quieres que algo no lo grabe, dispone tambien te marcar zonas donde no quieras que salte la alarma, por ejemplo, yo he marcado la zona de una lampara del jardin, que cuando hace viento, se mueve, y me hacia saltar el aviso de la app, de esta manera ya no me lo detecta. Tambien tiene la opcion de patrullaje horizontal y vertical, que la camara sola gira en ambos lados. Dispone de luz incorporada, que de noche hace que se vea al detalle todo. El modo noche infrarojo es brutal, se ve hasta con mejor detalle que con la luz. Tambien te permite crear zonas de vigilancia predeterminadas, y cuando quieras, cuando le des, la camara buscara la zona que tu hayad guardado previamente. Tambirn dispone de la opcion de seguimiento del movimiento, si detecta alguien, la camara lo seguira hasta que lo pierda de vista. Hay mas cosas, aunque todo lo explicado es gratuito con la app. Voy a comprar un par mas de este modelo, y me estoy pensando en pagar la suscripcion, que es de 4,99 euros al mes.

Estou testando ha alguns dias e até agora achei a qualidade da imagem excelente, os triggers de gravação por movimento funcionam bem, os downloads para o celular são muito simples e rápidos. Ainda não estou 100% familiarizado com tudo, mas por enquanto não tenho nada a reclamar.

Diese hier im Außeneinsatz (Garten).Wie immer beim TAPO Smarthome-Sytem:Einfache Installation & gute, übersichtliche App.Funktioniert insgesamt gut & zuverlässig. Insbesondere die KI-Personenerkennung sortiert viel 'sonstige' Bewegung aus und vermeidet damit Fehlalarme. Videochip erscheint mir sehr lichtstark: Erst bei sehr tiefer Dämmerung wird auf IR umgeschaltet. Bei mir reicht sogar noch das Restlicht der Straßenlaterne auf der Straßenseite gegenüber für ein Farbbild.Der Videochip kommt dabei auch gut mit Gegenlicht und punktuellen Leuchtquellen im Bildbereich zurecht.Die Stromversorgung erfolgt mit 10 Watt/Volt. Hierzu finden sich günstige Unterputznetzteile im Elektrozubehör für die Outdoor-Montage. Andere TAPO-Kameras vertragen nur 5 Volt, was als Netzteil deutlich seltener und teurer zu bekommen ist.Speicherung in der kostenpflichtigen Cloud (32 Eur/Jahr) oder lokaler SD-Karte. Letzters dann kostenlos - aber von außen leicht zu sabotieren (Schraubdeckel). Überhaupt bietet die Kamera wenig Widerstand gegen schlagenden Angriff: Ist eben alles Kunststoff. Die Montage ist also außerhalb möglicher Angriffsreichweiten erforderlich.Bildzugriff via App oder ONIV (noch nicht probiert). Endlosstreaming nur, wenn Kamera und Handy im gleichen WLAN sind. Ansonsten wird die Wiedergabe nach ein paar Minuten unterbrochen - kann aber nach Bestätigung fortgesetzt werden.Meine Cons:Der Videochip liefert zwar bis in die sehr dunkle Dämmerung noch ein Farbbild. Bei richtiger Dunkelheit (sternenklar) werden jedoch weiße LEDs als Scheinwerfer für ein Farbbild zugeschaltet und bilden im Gegenzug ein schönes Positionslicht.Ebenso finde ich die IR-Leuchtdioden recht stark sichtbar und diese erfüllen damit ebenso die Funktion einer Positionsmarkierung.Die KI-Personenerkennung reagiert m.E. einfach nur auf vertikale-linienhafte Pixelverschiebungen: Auch ein über das Grundstück fallender Lichtstrahl wird so als Person erkannt. Naja, bleibt aber trotzdem besser, als auf jede Katze zu reagieren.Eine konfigurierbare Bewegungsgrenze für die PAN-Funktion fehlt: So verfolgt die Kamera auch mal eine Bewegung bis in den öffentlichen Raum und bleibt dann an den Bewegungen des Straßenverkehrs 'hängen'. Gerne würde ich daher den maximalen Schwenkbereich festsetzen können und nicht bis ins endlose verfolgen.Insgesamt bin ich zufrieden mit dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und habe das gleiche Modell nochmal nachgekauft.Auch die übrigen TAPO Smarthome-Bauteile erscheinen mir funktional & preiswert: Über die schaltbare Steckdose kann ich so bei Personenerkennung der Kamera, die Gartenbeleuchtung via 'TAPO-Automatisierung' einschalten lassen. Top!
